Thank you for this compilation! I'm curious about the recommendation to use the needle-less serum as a buffer for Vitamin A. It seems that there are copper peptides in the serum, which I thought does not mix well with retinoids (one lowers the efficacy of the other)? This is what my micrconeedling person has always told me. Her protocol and after-care were adapted from you ❤

Ok! In my own routine I would use dermalure intensive night right after needleless serum (in this routine). Because I’m no longer worrying over copper peptides and vitamin C I can layer these 2 serums easily. I typically keep the Dermelect separate only to avoid irritation. Thats what that one is only a couple nights a week with a nice moisturizer over it 💙💙

Hi Penny! Love this video. I love all your videos. I have a little bit of a compromised skin barrier but I want a hydrating moisturizer with anti-aging benefits.. do you recommend the night time peptide cream or the recovery cream? I’m also doing IPL for ocular rosacea, so the treatment is done on my eyes and face. Going for second IPL next week. Any recommendations with that would be helpful. Thank you so much! ❤

The original. But another to look in to is a long long time favorite of mine called Sukoyaka Suhada urea eye cream. It’s excellent, huge tube, very hydrating and incredibly affordable. Here is a link (affiliate) amzn.to/3QWhiPu It’s about $20 and the best for straight up *dryness* in my opinion.

QUESTION: Penny, have you noticed a difference between the 0.05% and the 0.10% Naturium retinaldehyde? I picked up Drmtlgy's Vitamin C E + F, Needle-less serum & Peptide Night Cream thanks to this video, of which I'm loving it all. One more question: I have rosacea, and although it's in maintenance, I still regularly apply azelaic acid 15% Finacea gel. Can you please recommend the best routine to apply this product based on this video?

Thanks for all of this info Penny. I love all of the Drmtlgy products I have used. I'm curious on your feelings about the Advanced Retexturizer. This stuff is NO JOKE! It almost acts like a straight up peel on me! Any advice on how to maximize the benefits of this without harming my skin would be greatly appreciated!

Ok the advanced texturizer is certainly POTENT. Couple things: If you want to use it on your face always use on skin that has been dry for at least 30 minutes. To minimize irritation you can do flash exposure- so use it for 5 minutes and rinse off, follow with something like sooth and recovery. Use it on the décolleté….do a test spot first, but I find it to be an excellent BODY exfoliator! Amazing on the arms and feet too!!

I love so many of these products. Question for you, what do you think of hydra fader for hyperpigmentation spots? Or is there another option you would recommend? And what about masks, like their pumpkin mask or another one you like?

I really like the hydra fader personally but I’ve had mixed reviews for that one from the community here. So take that for what you will 😊 As far as the masks…..the EYE masks are a staple that I’ve repurchased many times! The pumpkin mask is the opposite of the hydra fader….the community LOVES that mask but it was a little drying for me personally 🤔 Hope this helps 💙

I would use the Photozyme DNA youth recovery serum at night and I would use it after the needleless serum but before the peptide moisturizer. That is a fantastic DNA repair enzyme product and I am glad you love it!

Okay, thank you! I do also use the Photozyme GFS Plus Night Serum a couple times a week with it. So the DNA youth recovery every night and the GFS the way I have been? Both after the needleless serum. I do want to incorporate what you talked about in this video with the Naturium a couple times a week and the dermalect, so not exactly sure how to do that. Sorry for all the questions but you have been so helpful with your videos but some times I can get overwhelmed with the best way to use them.@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE

Thanks, Penny! I was just wondering why you apply the copper peptides before your Vit-C, when that seems to be thicker than a Vit-C serum? And also, is it ok to use a regular peptide serum, plus a copper peptide serum together in the same routine, or do you think that's overkill, & I should save the regular peptides to use along with the Retinaldehyde?

My NIOD copper peptide is definitely more watery than my Drmtlgy vitamin C (although it’s nearly negligible, they’re both pretty lightweight). You could do them either way you like 😍 Personally I don’t think it’s overkill on the CPs+other peptide serums because typically multi peptide serums aren’t as potent with the CPs. That said, you definitely don’t have to layer them- either CPs or a multi peptide serum is an excellent source of peptides and would be sufficient 😊💙💙

I've been using drmtlgy for a few years now and I keep going back for more. I love: sunscreens (board spectrum is my fave), needless serum (repurchased many many times), peptide moisturizer, eye cream (I wanna try the new one), pumpkin mask. I didn't love the eye masks (too slippy) and the hydra fader didn't do much. I like/use all their moisturizers. As several pple has said in the reviews though... If you don't live in the US, the shipping/duties/taxes are way too high. Unreasonably high. I live in Canada so I'm used to ordering stuff from the states or from Europe or Asia, but I've never seen any company charge this much extra. It defies logic. They make it seem like there's "free shipping" but nothing abt it is free. The prices in Canadian dollars are higher than the American prices with the exchange rate, like quite a bit more. And on top of that there's taxes and duties. It honesty feels sketchy like it's not transparent. It's a total bummer. I still choose to buy certain faves during the sale and I love the products but I do cringe a little!

Hi Penny, I've been holding off and off on buying the Ziip because I live in New Zealand and the exchange to local dollars makes it $815 to buy.... Ok that would be at night and I would use it right after needleless serum but before peptide moisturizer. You could do it after the moisturizer but I think the M4 should be closer to first to get the most benefit 💙💙

That has been the thinking for a long time but after researching it more and considering the opinions of chemists I think they are just find together. If you look in to the chemist account “kindofstephen” on Instagram he has a post about copper peptides that is incredibly enlightening 😍😍

Great video! I'm looking for a great product for Hyperpigmentation, I've used Hydroquinone, Topicals Faded and Azelaic Acid Cream 20%. Thought I'd try something else since I'm running out. Have you ever heard of and/or used the "Touch Skincare Bright & Clear"? The ingredients look good, and the price point is ok as well, I might try the Regimen Lab Level Serum if it is at a discount for Black Friday or Cyber Monday. Any suggestions? and have you tried the Touch Skincare Bright & Clear?...Thanks very much - Linda

I have used the touch bright and clear and it’s excellent!! Such amazing price point too. Look in to cysteamine also. It’s a different method of application (it’s used daily as a mask that you rinse off then go on with your skincare). I used it last year with great success….fell off the wagon and now I have a tube ready to go when I decide I’ll actually commit to it 😊

@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE Thanks much!, I ended up ordering a pigmentation product from Theramid, and also the Numbuzin Concentrated Vitamin Serum which is supposed to be great for brightening, I may order Hydroquinone 4% from AllDayChemist, very inexpensive but they charge around $20 for shipping. It's where I stock up on my Retin A Cream as well. It's a great site, but they ran out of the Finacea 15% Azelaic serum....darn. I'll get the Cos De Baha 10%, hope it's effective. You're my favorite beauty video person (influencer, whatever...) Have a great holiday.

Hey Penn, love your video! Could you please clarify- you use needle less serum before you put your led mask on? I was thinking I have to use led mask on clean face 🤷‍♀️

I used to always think clean face only as well. But now most of the time I actually use a serum before LED. I like that my skin remains hydrated through the treatment, and I also believe that LED does help with penetration of ingredients. That said, I do recommend keeping it to water-based serums only and I do like to let them dry down for just a minute before I do my LED session so that I don’t interfere with the light. I have been doing this now for a while, and I haven’t noticed any kind of detriment to my LED sessions actually only the opposite. I feel like my skin has improved by using products before LED. But again they are lightweight water-based serums that don’t interfere with the light. 💙

Thanks! Why at night do you do the needleless serum and the night cream if they are both packed with peptides? Why not just one over your vitamin A?

I like layering consistencies, serum to saturate the tissue and hydrate (better than most moisturizers in my opinion) then apply the vitamin A then layer on the moisturizer. Peptides, like antioxidants, work very well together so the more the merrier.

I use Drmtlolgy for years. I started with their SPF’s used all of them. My big question is on the LA Serum. I have sensitive/rosacea skin, could I use it? I have been avoiding as I already use a prescription Retin oil a few times a week.

The needleless does have a copper component but NIOD is definitely a dedicated copper peptide, and therefore more potent as a copper peptide. The needleless has so much more to it but as a copper peptide the NIOD is definitely better. 💙

Ok, that’s one thing that kind of made my skin feel dry. I do think I left it on too long….i will give it another try. If you’re sensitive or dry I would maybe skip it 😬 That said, other people seem to love it 🤪

I used to think so. I no longer think that we need to keep them separate. After listening to cosmetic chemists explain the relationship between copper peptides and vitamin C. I understand that a copper peptide is not the same as free copper and really, there is no negative interaction between the two. So that is what I do now, I don’t worry about keeping them separate. 🙃

I ordered the Dermelect night serum but to tell you the truth I'm really scared to use it being sensitive. Should I use a buffer first like a barrier serum then the sleep serum and start with 1 time a week. I hear u and Graceful Beauty Sherri talk about this Sleep serum . I just don't want to burn my face off.

I think if you’re worried you should patch test on the inside of your arm first, if that’s fine then try it on your face for a short amount of time (say an hour) and assess. It’s potent but it shouldn’t burn your face off 😊

Honestly it was a little drying. But! I left it on for a really long time. I have heard from so many people that they love it….i am planning to try it again, for a much shorter amount of time 😊

You did hear me correctly 😊 For a long time I’ve said to keep the two actives apart. After studying both even more (especially since I personally now use L ascorbic acid in my routine quite a bit) I’ve come to the conclusion that they really are fine together. I think the “you can’t use them together” has been something that has been repeated so much that we all just took it to be true. There is an a cosmetic formulator/chemist named Stephen who explains it so well- essentially a copper peptide is not copper and the conditions on our skin aren’t such that they’d oxidize each other anyway. If you want to check out Stephen his instagram is “Kindofstephen” and he has an amazing post on this. This has been one of the most liberating skincare moves I’ve made because copper peptides are always so so difficult to fit it!!

Well I definitely did see amazing improvement from cystesmine after about 10 weeks of daily use. Then I fell off the wagon. I have a brand new tube ready to start again but I know I have to commit to every day so I haven’t started up again. I’m so sorry you didn’t see improvement- it definitely took a while but once I did I felt like it really improved the quality of my skin AND of course the pigment.

I use the Drmtlgy plus.. A.M. The ordinary lactic acid 10%, timeless 20% vitamin C ferulic acid vitaminE, timeless B5 hydration serum coenzyme Q 10 serum. P.M. Needle-less Serum my prescription Tretinoin 0.1% and The ordinary buffet copper peptide, timeless Matrixyl synthe 6 serum and Quenn 7 IN 1 mixed with timeless hyaluronic acid. A lot… not including devices. 61 years old main concern brown spots from sun damage… If you don’t want to start doing that I completely understand.. I hate to tell you but I love your routine 😬 You have so many great serums that layer so well! That said- you could probably ditch the hyaluronic acid at night and the matrixyl. I LOVE the matrixyl but you are really doubling up with the needleless and the buffet, you’re getting tons of similar actives. Does that help? I bet your skin is gorgeous!!!!

You know Penny, I have been following you for years. You may not have noticed bc I don't say much. I have to say, as a Canadian, I'm very disappointed with this line. It's ridiculously expensive! Especially when you add in the exchange! Can you not do a vid re some GOOD but less expensive products? I have been pretty much sticking with The Ordinary but they don't carry everything! I'm kind of chking out some Canadian k-beauty sites. Any recommendations? Some are both US & Canada. It’s so hard because you’d think we were on different planets the way brands are available 🫤 I can be in Canada in 6 hours from my house but you would think you were on the moon! I think I have said this 3 times now in different videos you’ve created…DMTLGY has changed my skin and I LOVE it. I spent years and thousands of dollars on buying products from SO many different brands that never work for me and since discovering DMTGLY, I have never been as happy with my complexion as I am now at 40. ❤ I can’t say enough good things about this brand, thank you!!! 🧡Needless Serum - my fav, on my 2nd bottle 🧡Pumpkin enzyme mask - divine! 🧡Vitamin C (ferulic one) - it’s a bit too sticky and tacky for me, I didn’t love it but it wasn’t bad, so I switched to their Vitamin C5 cream and that’s been great! It’s light and feels so smoothing! 🧡Soothe and recovery cream - so awesome and makes my skin feel so nice 🧡Peptide night cream - It’s lightweight but I love it because it still feels like it does the job of a thicker cream, ya know? I just purchased my second jar. 🧡Universal tinted moisturizer - it has a subtle glow, but it makes my skin look so healthy, especially in zoom meetings lol 🧡HPR eye cream - I did just start using this, but it definitely leaves my under eye feeling hydrated.

That’s the one thing I’ve tried that didn’t work for me BUT I did leave it on too long (I literally tried it one single time a long time ago). @@PENNSMITHSKINCARE I only leave it on for 10 minutes because it does have kind of like a warm/tingly feeling but my skin feels so plump and smooth after washing off the mask. I like the little beads in the mask as well. The smell is also very nice legit like pumpkin spice (buyer beware if you don’t like that lol)

You can do exactly what you listed above. I do like to add a moisturizer after tret to keep the barrier in tact and help with hydration. That’s all I’d add!! 💙💙

That was my thought for many years as well. After much more research I think COPPER (free copper) and ascorbic acid are not good together. A copper peptide is not free copper. The environment on our skin is not one that creates an issue for the two ingredients. I’ve now been using them together for a while with no issue, in fact I really enjoy the combo 😊

How do you compare drmltgy vitamin c to timeless ? Doesn’t timeless use more effective packaging ?

There are several reasons that I love Drmtlgy vitamin more than timeless. Here are a few: Drmtlgy has castor seed oil in it along with ceramides. These ingredients seem to buffer the irritating nature of l-ascorbic acid (for me) while also providing great benefit to the skin on their own. The packaging isn’t actually better- I used to think that airless pumps were truly airless but I’ve learned that they’re not. Check out Lab muffin beauty- she is a chemist PHD and she talks about airless pumps. All that said, if you love Timeless it is an excellent product. It doesn’t really work for me long term bc I get irritated by the l-ascorbic acid. I know so many people love it and I think that’s wonderful 😁

Copper peptides and vitamin C are ok together. I’ve said forever to keep them separate and recently I learned that they’re actually fine together. If you look up “Kind of Stephen” on instagram he has posts about it (he’s a chemist/skincare formulator) So enlightening and honestly liberating to not worry about those two!!

Anyone from Australia who have purchased from them? On the website they say "FREE DELIVERY TO AUSTRALIA" and yet I was charged a shipping fee. I reached out to them and they insisted they waved the shipping, and the charge was tax. But my screenshot doesnt lie!
