Thanks for showing this. A practical demonstration makes so much more sense than the way it is worded in the manual. All the best👍🏻

Harold i am very thankful you are making these dro teaching videos, your a good teacher. To do multiple parts one must have his table or vice stops set in place. Thanks again.

This function saves tool changes too. Let's say you need to drill and tap for holes, drill the 4 holes, setting the data points as you demonstrated. Then install the tap, go back to each datapoint get the job done. Quick and easy.

Great video. I have used that function several times and it's paid for the DRO just in that function. Lol, I just wish you had made this video sooner so it wouldn't have taken me so long to figure it out from the crappie instructions that came with mine. Side note: having a great time with the Sunday live feed. YOU are the man Harold 😁👍👍👍👍👍☝☝☝ See you this weekend 😎

Hi Harold. Nice and helpful, this was all about timing ABSOLUTELY installing 2 new DRO's right now, one on a mill and another on a surface grinder, so will look to see what we have allowing that here on those two. A lot of storage capacity as well. Lance & Patrick.

I've used this for a while now. I label the print with the sdm point and can go back and forth between points quickly. I group points so all 10's are one feature 20's another. With 200 points not likely to run out of useable points.

Harold, I am going to have to get me a DRO so I can join in with the fun. Maybe one of these Sundays you will get a chance to join in on your Sunday get together. You seem to be spending your time behind the scenes. Always good to see you. Gary

A DRO is a wonderful tool for guys like me. I hope you do join the discussion you are certainly welcome. I do stick to the background a lot as my guests are all much more interesting than me and I have to do the work of comment watching and such. A one track mind can only run one railroad at a time. Thanks for stopping by Gary.

Hi Harold, do you have to clear unneeded SDM settings somehow or do you just go over top of them with new ones? thanks
@AmateurRedneckWorkshop
@AmateurRedneckWorkshop Жыл бұрын
You can just record over them or you can clear the whole thing by pushing I think the "." ten times. My memory is old so look at the manual for which button. Thanks Berty.

Harold I have been wanting to do that with my Blu Dro. I know it cam be done but I keep getting lost trying to set it up. I have a 1" thick aluminum plate that i am going to drill 64 holes in , If it ever warms up here I'll get back to it. Monday and Tuesday it is going to be a low of -1 and high of 12 , I am ready for spring.

It appears you have 5 um scales. They measure in 0.00019 inch steps. That is what I have, and you should be able to option that DRO to 4 decimal places. That happens when you switch on the DRO and press something while it is starting up... probably explained in fine Chinglish in the manual. With that, it will round to the nearest 0.0002". Much easier to use working in inch mode, and as close as you can get given the scale accuracy. Metric will be fine with that also.
@AmateurRedneckWorkshop
@AmateurRedneckWorkshop 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip Wes. I have been intending to do that but somehow I never get around to it. It is going to be too cold to live tomorrow so maybe I will just be happy to set the decimal places and call it a day. Thanks for stopping by.
