It is so funny, I just tried to try this and I fly calm and without any nervousness at all, cruising around, and after land I feel like, awesome! It is work! But then I just realize that I HAVEN'T SWITCH THE MODE so I fly in acro indoor already 🤣 Perfect placebo effect example. Actually wanna try those method but since I know I already doing good in acro I would stay on acro for indoor.

Oh I would give you more credit than that. I have handed quads to non fpv people in angle mode and they really struggle to do anything other than bounce off the floor and ceiling. :)

I started in Horizon mode. I enjoyed being able have full stick available, but it would still level itself if i needed it. Never really used angle mode.

To fly acro you got to understand what acro is, how it behaves, and what is expected for you to input into the quad, one way to learn is to fly LOS to understand the behaviors, for instance if you tip the quad, he is not gonna self level, therefor he is going to continue moving in that direction, no more inputs needed, unless you want to stop, then you got to tip back in the oposit direction so it can stop. After you learn it, there is no feeling like it, its complete freedom. So awesome.

Does being good at flying LOS in acro really translate to flying it FPV? Because I can speak from experience that it doesn't work the same way the other way around. I can't fly LOS to save my life, yet I can zip around a small apartment with relative ease. Though I do have sim time to thank for that, and maybe too much sim time at that lol

Los is simply positional awareness all instead of practicing los focused on your remote focus on you being the pilot in the quad two different colored props help tremendously at first green front pink back. Just make around 1400 Squares usin yaw in your back yard and boom you’ve got it 6 years later lmao don’t regard the latter comment it’s just for fun you can learn los in a week try JBs method 4 packs a day no goggles 30 days 4th day you’ll be like”” look babe I’m doing it without the goggles”” lmao

What's a good starter fpv platform that's affordable doesn't necessarily need to be micro or racing. I had tested a dji mini 2 loved it as far as video, range, fly time, sensors and features. When I did I believe the fly more kit was 700 believe it'd now 500.

I don't have any experience with the DJI drones. Is that what your asking? I don't think there is anything remotely close in FPV that I have experience on this channel. The fly time is shorter, the range can be about the same, rarely do they have sensors or features like the dji drones.

@@NickBurnsFPV no I'm asking what drone/quad fpv is a decent one to start with that won't break the bank. Loved the dji they have a fpv and believe u can add the goggles to any of their drones. Just a Lil ok the high end price wise. I'd be happy with a dji or their fpv (their fpv specific drone is or was $999.99, but not really upgradable if I want to into the hobby like nitro RC cars where you can get different motors , upgrade parts or replace broken ones. Where as a Dji believe all u can do is change controllers (their one hand controller stick I dunno thr name is cool) add fpv, or swap broke rotors.

@@IcannaHelp The budget options will be analog, which is far from the visuals of a dji drone. Also the goggles will be what we call "box goggles", which are less friendly if we wear glasses or have corrected vision....might need to wear contacts. A solid package for under $300 is the emax tinyhawk III racing drone package. When we jump up to dji level of visuals, the price point is nearly double.

Or just fly angle indoors 🤷♂️ I'm nearly as fast around the house as you in angle mode. If I go to acro mode I'm less than half the speed. Also I end up trying to power loop furniture which is fun until I break the frame 🤣 I can't be trusted in acro mode indoors!!

I always thought you started flying in acro I still am only comfortable in angle mode it's good enough for me guess I'm old school cause I'm still having a blast ripping around with brushed motors too but I never thought about doing this it looks like a great way for me to finally get the hang of acro if I ever get around to it

No, this method reduces the the angle mode assistance to a point where its very weak and then we switch to rate/acro

Nick, I think you can use angle limit in acro mode so you're actually flying in acro, but limiting the angle so it can't flip, same concept you're just never in angle mode .

This will work but if you have no experience at all you may benefit more by just struggling with acro for a day or 2 until it clicks. I almost bailed on acro at first cus it was so hard but after several houra in simulator i just got it.

sure, we don't actually need much space to fly a 75mm or 65mm quad. A 10x15 room allows us to fly. Sure, my house is larger being in the midwest, but not required.

It can likely carry, it but weight is so important the smaller the prop we have, so it might just be a cruiser and not one we would want to go fast or do tricks with.

So you're OK with flying the Radiomaster Zorro with a hybrid pinch grip? I thought the gaming style controllers were mostly for pinching... The smaller gimbals give enough throw to the sticks? Yes, When I first started fpv I was thumbing, but felt I wasn't progressing. I switch to this pinch hybrid, which felt weird for a while but eventually felt more in control and better. the battery life on the zorro is shorter than most radios, its not a large issue for me as I don't often have flying sessions more than 60mins. I use a secondary battery when it gets low and I have flying to do. I use either the 18650 pack made for the zorro or a 2s goggle battery to juice it up while I am flying. I have read about some that don't feel like they can pinch/hybrid on gamepad style radios (I have no idea if those I have read about or heard from are based on 1 flight or weeks of flights pinching on a gamepad radio), for me it feels more natural and the angle of the radio more suits the angle between my elbow/ribs and hands. The box style radios feel like I have to keep outward pressure to keep my hands in the position I like, nice and relaxed. I don't feel this pressure on gamepad radios.

@@KOrnhOliO1 That one is also very popular for those that like a smaller radio but don't want or like the gamepad style. It doesn't feel as robust or as well made at the TX16 or zorro, though.

The quad itself would be about $280, goggles about $500, charger and batteries from $100 to much more depending on the charger and how many batteries we buy.

So I take it when you lower the value you'll end up having to self correct more and more because it wont auto balance itself quick enough? Might have to try it out and see, ive only just started on a mobuia 6 and acro seems impossible, maybe this is what i need. Plus it seems indestructible so that helps.

So by setting it to 50 on angle could you explain what exactly that does? I can fly acro outside but indoors even on angle in my 500sq ft apt I just hit everything lol😅

in angle mode the quad is always working to level itself. Decreasing the number decreases how aggressively the quad is trying to self level, leaving us in control an generally means more acrobatic ability and smoother flight

@NickBurnsFPV yes very good advice!! I did, I lowered my mid throttle a little and added about 30 expo... world of difference! I'm also going to try try the angle step down method you recommended! Thanks for replying!

Flew Yesterday the fitst time in my house😂 up down up down in the next room and crashed😂😂 need to Play more sim.. in dlr im not bad at flying.. but i cant compare it with my first flight :(

acro or rate mode means we fully control the quad, their is no self stabilization.
