My thoughts exactly..., I've never heard or scene wolf behavior like that, I wish a expert would explain what exactly was going on here during all this. Do you get it?

it must have been really hungry to go after a moose alone in water where the moose has the advantage. maybe it was a young wolf that hasn't found a new pack yet.
@pilgrimsspiritualvoyage6252
@pilgrimsspiritualvoyage6252 3 ай бұрын
That's exactly! For it to attack alone, AND in the water. This is a lone wolf that hasn't found a pack yet, and was getting extremely desperate. During this time of transition, lone wolves will hunt smaller game like rabbits, etc.. something they can actually catch alone. As this proves, a single wolf can not take down large prey by itself. As I said, this wolf must not have even been able to get a hold of small game if it was willing to take this huge of a risk.
@lornalong6468
@lornalong6468 3 ай бұрын
It was a unwise choice to attack an animal with really long legs,a weight & a height advantage in the scale of 1:4+ (wolf:moose). I was waiting to see if the moose had trampled & drowned the wolf... A strange risk for the wolf to take.
@lornalong6468
@lornalong6468 3 ай бұрын
@@pilgrimsspiritualvoyage6252 I had similar thoughts. Maybe it was a pappa wolf with a mom & cubs nearby to feed. Typically animals don't choose prey they cannot eat all to themselves if they are only considering feeding themselves. Perhaps in icy terrain in winter so that they can return to the frozen carcass & feed over multiple days. But this was not an icy area or season it seems.

Youd be suprised how quickly any animal will gas out when being actively hunted. Especially with the extra drag of the water. In open terrain that wolf prob doesnt even go after that moose but isolating it in the water has the moose out of its element. Wolves stamina is off the charts. Thats basically how they take down large prey, they run them to exhuastion

I find it interesting that so many people seemed surprised the Moose got away. Having witnessed moose quite a few times in the wild I believe this is another case of us humans judging a book by its cover. They aren't as clumsy or unintelligent as we believe. The narrator makes it out like the moose was so desperate to get away. So tired. Exhausted. It's entirely possible that the plan of the Moose the entire time was just simply to find deeper water.

Some people underestimate how powerful a full grown NORTHERN GRAY WOLF that weighs over 100 pounds really is. People underestimate how HARD those WOLVES can bite.Their jaws can exert up to 1500 pounds of jaw pressure MAXIMUM RECORD and a MINIMUM jaw pressure of 400 pounds when they are just nipping at something. A WOLF that is only nipping at an object can bite harder than most DOMESTIC DOGS biting with full strength. And a STRONG ALPHA MALE WOLF up north is capable of killing large prey alone and can hold their own against a COUGAR 40% of the time with the other 60% favoring the COUGAR. So win, lose, or draw; a LONE ALPHA WOLF that weighs over 100 pounds is NO PUSHOVER. They can LOSE SOME AND WIN SOME. But they are FORMIDABLE PREDATORS nonetheless. And that's a fact.

Everything you said is correct, except for a wolf being able to take down large pray. Even a very large alpha Canadian gray wolf can NOT take down large prey by itself. I have no idea where you even heard that. Having lived on the Canadian border, lived in Montana and Wyoming in which Grey wolves are prevalent... So I can confidently say from 100's of years of scientific study and personal experience... that there isn't a single wolf on this planet that can take down large prey on its own.

@realitydrakesrealitydpoet3727 3 ай бұрын
@@pilgrimsspiritualvoyage6252 Actually, a LONE WOLF is in fact capable of killing prey up to the size of a CARIBOU by itself. And it is on KZfaq. And of course a WOLF can kill a GOAT and SHEEP by itself. And those are relatively large prey also. Unlike the smaller wild dogs like COYOTES, JACKALS, and FOXES; a WOLF is physically designed to kill large prey all by itself if necessary, but they usually do it in packs. Being in packs increases their success rate of course and the pack also helps WOLVES protect themselves and their hard earned prey against larger predators such as BEARS and BIG CATS. But the WOLF'S teeth, jaw pressure, and body weight is designed for killing LARGE PREY. This is ESPECIALLY true of the WOLVES that live further NORTH, which tend to grow to a LARGER SIZE than their SOUTHERN RELATIVES. And yes, they OCCASIONALLY have to kill LARGE PREY alone. Again, we can NEVER underestimate how FORMIDABLE a larger GRAY WOLF can be. Go to KZfaq and look for the footage of a LONE WOLF killing a CARIBOU.

The wolf must be really hungry! I hope she finds something ASAP but I prefer not to want her kill because it usually isn't very fun to see. A human can do it fast with a weapon, the wolf doesn't have that. Blessings to all living beings ❤

У волков есть тактика доводить самок лосей, лошадей до стресса и у самок происходит выкидышь плода. Его они и подбирают. Тут на видео лосиха.
