In April of 2022, AAPRCO organized an all private car and rare mileage excursion on the U.S. Sugar Corporation's South Central Florida Express Railroad.
SCFE had acquired and rebuilt a steam locomotive, the #148 Sugar Express, a retired former Florida East Coast Railway locomotive. The historic private cars traveled from Miami, FL, as an Amtrak special train and was handed over to the SCFE at Sebring, FL. The cars moved to Clewiston, FL, and spent several days traveling around the railroad.
