Huatulco cruise port is a perfect destination for the day. Cruise ships will dock in the Santa Cruz bay of Huatulco. It is a very beautiful and modern cruise port with a lot of activities for tourists. Santa Cruz beach is located within five minutes' walk from the pier on the left after exiting the port area. There are restaurants, shops and roadside stalls selling a variety of things within walking distance. Private operators also sell various tours near the exit.
If you wish to venture out of Santa Bay, La Crucecita is the closest town located just on the other side of the hill. You could walk the 1.5 mile or take a 3 US dollar taxi to town. This charming town is known for its beautiful church, local market, restaurants and shopping.
