I love my Drone mask 2 I purchased mine for Gaming and Movies I am able to strap my Nintendo Switch to it and stream my Xbox to my phone as well it’s perfect for FPS games, Racing games and 3rd person games and movies it’s like watching in your own personal theater

Hey Steve, great review. It sounds like you've been bitten by the FPV bug with the experience using these! Perhaps the DJI Avata is in your future? :)

Haha! Thanks John. I watched your DroneMask 2.0 review too. I really enjoyed it and I was quite interested to hear your thoughts as you have so much FPV experience. The DroneMask certainly peaked my interest in true FPV. I was honestly surprised how much fun I had flying in that style using the googles. And, yes, it did make me think about the Avata but I think I'll wait until version 2 or a sub-250g version. 😀

Thanks Dan! Yes, the price is in US $. For me as a Canadian that would make it over $240 CAN, which is just too much. At $100-$120US I think it would be a no-brainer. Cheers!

I use reading glasses when flying now, would I still require them or does the lense and adjustable focal point eliminate the need for them? I've never looked at this option. Secondly, would this help to see obstacles? I find my S20FE difficult to pick a safe path in the mountains even on the brightest setting. When I view the recording on a laptop later I can see much clearer and would fly closer to trees if I had the option of a bigger and brighter screen. Thanks for the review!

My vision is good but I can't focus up close - typical age-related issue - haha. I have to hold something about 14 inches away for it to be sharp. While using the DroneMask I was able to get a sharp view of my phone by extending it all the way out. I just tried using it with my readers and I still need to extend it all the way out but interestingly enough, the picture is sharper. I did observe a bit more pressure on the bridge of my nose while wearing glasses beneath the DroneMask. There's no way for me to know if this would work for you however DroneMask does have a 30-day return policy in case it doesn't work out. I would just be sure to read the "fine print" before ordering, just to make sure you're covered in case you need to return them. As far as obstacles go, yes, for sure the googles did help in spotting hazards. I didn't dwell on it too much in the video but I was definitely seeing easy-to-miss details much more readily. It's likely due to the lens magnification and concentrating your focus on the screen. You do have to be careful though because you are only seeing what your drone's camera sees, so there will be plenty of blind spots. Good luck!

Dans mon dronemak2 l'image est double pourtant mes yeux ne se croisent pas. Quand je ferme un œil l'image est belle mais je ne vois pas tout l'écran. Impossible de l'utiliser 😢

Je suis désolé de l'entendre. Est-ce un problème de vision ou pensez-vous que c'est un problème avec le Drone Mask lui-même ? Si vous pensez qu'il s'agit d'un défaut du Drone Mask, je suis convaincu que leur équipe d'assistance prendra soin de vous à condition que vous respectiez leur période de garantie. Si c'est un problème de vision, c'est dommage. C'est un bon produit mais ils préviennent qu'il pourrait ne pas fonctionner pour tout le monde. Bonne chance. PS J'ai utilisé Google Translate pour passer de l'anglais au français, donc j'espère que ce que j'ai dit se traduit bien et a du sens. Acclamations!

@@SteveCoutts . Je n'ai pas de problème de vue. D'ailleurs au club 3 ou 4 personnes dont certains pratiquent le FPV ont essayé et rencontré le même soucis. Je n'ai pas de lunette sauf des loupes de 1,5 pour lire. J'ai essayé avec des loupes de 1,5 et de 2 . Masque serré, masque déployé. Je viens de regarder une vidéo de JFR900. Je le vois en double. Je n'ai pas d'autre dronemask pour comparer. J'ai envoyé un mail au fabricant. J'ai eu une réponse rapide mais pas de solution car comme je le dis je pense avoir tout essayé tout ce qu'il me propose.

The cable with mine plugs in fine but get no connection. A lot of money for nothing.

There's nothing magical with the DroneMask cable. If it's not working, perhaps it's a bad one. Get in touch with their support and I would expect they would send you a new one for free. Otherwise any cable that is compatible with the DJI controller and your phone would work just fine as long as it's long enough. Cheers!

Well Steve if you have a DJI drone your fine. If you have a Potensic Atom drone Go luck. I Even sent DroneMask a E-Mail asking if I could buy a cable from them. They told me they do not sell cables. Go luck if you have another brand of drone Getting it to work.

@@jimfitzgibbon5492 Hi Jim, there is nothing special about the cables included with the DroneMask. They are not drone specific, they are standard cables just longer than the ones that typically come with a drone. It looks like the Atom comes with three different cables to connect your phone to the remote. Just take which ever cable you use to your local electronics store and ask if they have a longer version of the same cable. Make sure it's long enough and you should be good to go. Good luck!
