Instead of ripping out rows, or tinking back, learn to drop down to fix mistakes. How to change decreases and increases several rows down.

Just the little nuances on how to hold and turn the crochet hook made this clear and understandable. Learning to correct this mistake is a great skill. Making knitting fun one skill at a time. ❤️

This is absolutely wonderful! I'm a keen knitter who is terrified of dropping a stitch, as I’ve never fully understood how to pick them up, but you’ve explained the process so clearly I’ll never fear dropping them again. Thank you.

I was forced to learn to fix mistakes, rows and rows back, on lace. It was a great learning experience and the best thing that ever happened to my knitting. Previously, I painfully tinked back stitch by stitch. Now I can take a section or a stitch and rip back with wild abandon. Thank you for passing along your knitting knowledge !!!

Thank you. I just laddered down past a K2tog and was stymied on how to fix it and your video popped up in my KZfaq channel. Most fortuitous. I have passed it on to my long suffering knitting friends who usually have to help me out as I am a relatively new knitter. Great tutorial!

I'm so glad I've found you! My Mum showed me all these sorts of things when I was in my early teens, but that's a long time ago now and she's no longer with us. So often I still find myself thinking, "I wish I could ask Mum about this, she'd know how to fix it!" but I can't... But now I can look up the appropriate video of yours and it's almost the same as sitting next to my Mum as she would show me what to do. Thank you so much for these videos!!

I never knew HOW to pick up dropped stitches and fixing an ssk. You are so exceptional kind and helpful. I used to undo all my work and RESTART. When it happens on my knitting machine I "swear" to be honest and have to knit the entire sweater as it has 3 colors, all over again. I once again learnt so much from you. I love the button band video. Thanks for sharing and caring. Your fan from France. 🙏👍👍👍🌹🌹

Can any of the detail focussed, happy knititng nerdie community help on this one? This is a great example and almost scary-psychic in timing, except that what I've just been struggling with is accidentally doing a M1R ... I've been doing it at the markers for shoulders but slipped up and did it at my marker for where a little set of patterned stitched starts. First, I dropped the wrong column. Then used a crochet hook to "walk" back up the ladders and re-establish it. Then I dropped the stitch for the correct (that is, the undesired) column. Dropped stitches down the ladder to where they stopped. But oh! That extra yarn in the exposed ladder. I've been trying to tweak it sideways across the rows, but find that in re-establishing the very 1st column (the wrong one that I dropped), I seem to have twisted the stitches ... So I think I have the right idea, generally, just not smooth enough execution to suit me and made worse by having a column of accidentally twisted stitches. How do you re-establish the stitches without introducing twist? Is that a common mistake?

Hi Folks, I had looked at a couple of Suzanne's vids and still was frustrated -- with my own project looking up at me with uneven tension where I'd try to drop and fix. I've rewatched her "Knitting SOS - Laddering Down to Correct Errors" ... had some tea and motivational chocolate ... and dropped one of the columns again and tweaked the tension again. Huzzah! MUCH better results. One thing I changed was using a large crochet needle (more in line with the Aran weight yarn). That helped.

The same way, you would drop down to the row below the mistake, fix the mistake and then ladder back up.
