Play your best players in their position hardly MIND BLOWING STUFF. 4 changes that needs to happen: 1. Put trent rb 2. put mainoo in midfield 3. put a natural left winger 4. play jude or foden in number 10 position but NOT BOTH.

Some of these fans are just as thick as Southgate. Foden is being played out of position on the left, as is Trippier at left back. This means the opposition are more concerned with our right flank, which is stacked with Saka and Walker. Our opponents therefore commit most of their focus to our right when they're in defence, because the threat off our left isn't so great. This means our attack is blunted on the right, because they are doubling and tripling up on that side, and is non existent on the left because our players on that side are not natural left wing players and can be dealt with relatively easily. So...what affect does this have on our ability to score? Well, our striker is an out and out centre forward, who likes to get his head on things, who likes to be in the box waiting for crosses, who likes to be poaching and waiting for the ball to come to his feet in the box....From wingers - Either cutting in or crossing - And he's not getting the ball from the wings, for the reasons above - So - What is he doing? He's either waiting up the field for nothing to arrive, looking like a useless tool - Or he's dropping back to try to get the ball, meaning we have no outlet to get the ball up to when we want to counter - On top of this, he's not very fast and doesn't usually win in an out and out race against a speedy defensive opponent, which means that dropping back to get the ball would then require him to lay it off...to a winger and our wingers are either doubled up on - Or not real wingers who don't play that position. So, we've went from having two men out of position on the left to that creating a knock on affect of our two men on the right being over focussed on, to that leading to our striker being under fed, isolated and carried. But wait, that's not all! Gareth has more surprises for us. Let's play another Right back in the centre of the park! Why the f not, eh?! Just insanity. You would think with the cascade affect that screwing up our flanks has had on our ability to score, Mr Southgate might leave us with the centre to allow us to create some joy with eh? Not a bit of it! What we'll do instead is take an excellent defensively minded but dynamic midfielder like Declan Rice, and we'll pair him with a right back known for hollywood passes in Trent Alexander Arnold - You see, in Gareths world, this will mean Declan can have a friend in defensive midfield as Trent doesn't need to run anywhere because he sprays balls about with precision, leaving him free to stay in the middle with Declan, because for Gareth, 2 centre halfs and a defensive midfielder as well as two wing backs, who all play at the very top in the PL, just aren't trust worthy enough, so we need a secondary DM - Yeh....well, unfortunately for big G, he hasn't realised that A) Trent is not a midfielder, defensive or otherwise, his lack of positional sense in the middle of the park is only underscored by his inability to have any affect on the game whatsoever, meaning the middle is getting out competed, and B) Those hollywood balls would generally by going diagonally, switching to the opposite side flank - But guess what's happening to our wingers Gareth! See above please. This is having a direct affect on Rice, who has the awareness to be a bit anxious about being as dynamic as he usually is, because his midfield partner is not a midfielder, and is not particularly great defensively either - So Rice is staying back, in expectation Trent will not be able to hack his new duties in the middle of the park - Meaning we lose his midfield presence going forward.....Leaving Jude Bellingham surrounded by team mates who are either out of position and ineffectual, doubled or tripled up on or are now so anxious about their own duties defensively, that they lack courage to get forward - Meaning our world class number 10 is also hanging back in order to get himself into the game, but in doing so, taking pressure off the oppositions back line and further restricting our ability to counter - Because everyone's dropped deep. There's a reason that the most complimentary anyone has been about this team has been in regards to Stones, Guéhi and Pickford - It's because they are the only 3 on the park that are not directly and overtly affected by your selection stupidity in other areas of the park. Here's what you do Gareth. You can't and don't really need to do much with your back line - It stays as it is, Trippier has to play out of position as a LB because you brought an injured Luke Shaw - A Genius move - And then failed to take another real lefty, even though you had 26 slots - So Pickford, Walker, Stones, Guéhi & Trippier it is. In the middle of the park, you take Trent out, and you play Declan centre mid, no 'you stay here' restriction, and you have Bellingham as your 8 and Foden as your 10 - If we're going against bigger boys, then play Bellingham as your 10 and swap Foden for Mainoo Or Wharton, in the middle of the park with Rice. On the right, you keep Saka. On the left you bring in Gordon. Now the opposition have tough choice to make. Saka and Gordon are both nightmares to play against because they're tricky and rapid, as is KW on the right, and on the left, although Tripps may not be naturally left sided, he and Anthony Gordon have a good understanding, both being Newcastle starting 11. With regards to the big man, now you've solved your midfield and wingers, he should get a lot more supply - But just in case something is wrong with Harry, who does look off the pace - Give him the first half against Slovenia, and if he's getting fed and still not putting them away, have Toney or Watkins play on their last man if they have a high line and have Gordon and Saka play first time balls behind them, or if they're sitting deep, play them both together, take Foden off, and have our back line push up nice and high, with Rice getting up too, to create enough pressure to get them to make a mistake - Once they concede have the players drop back to standard positions - *NOT* perched inside our own half! And get the wingers nice and wide and have both forwards ready for to bomb forward for balls going in behind the opposition back line - Every time Slovenia try to get back in the game, this should be seen as a invitation to further increase the scoreline in our favour. Gareth won't do any of this. Gareth will take one star name out, maybe Trent and Gareth will play Connor Gallagher there, because Gareth hasn't got a f****** clue. We'll probably still end up winning because of the sheer difference in player quality, but we're not long for this tournament with a man who still hasn't worked out why we don't need an overweight DM who can't get a game a West Ham or how bringing up his name is a spit in the face to the talent that we have available.
