Today we're continuing with the tennis drop shot series of videos and this part 2 covers the tactical part.
A drop shot is a double edged sword which means that if you don't play it really well you'll likely lose the point.
That means you really need to know when is the right time to play it and when it's really not.
So in this video article you'll learn some key tactics on when to play the drop shot but also which situations and types of incoming balls are not the right ones for the drop shot.
In the end I'll also show you the most devastating drop shot which can completely throw your opponent off balance.

How do you return the drop shot. What are your shot options and how are you setting up for them? One of my buddies does an excessive amount of drop shot returns off of weak serves (ie, my serve lol!) as well as throughout the doubles gameplay. I spend a lot of time running up to the net, having no idea what to do with the ball while I'm in motion, for both the cross court return and for his partner poaching. In other words, I'm on the move, running towards the net with no time to set up. (Other times I move up into no-mans-land anticipating the drop shot, only to get drilled with a solid cross court return, and get caught with little to do except doing a weak return midcourt.) Thanks for your help!
