Kristin and Rick say they are concerned their 15-year-old son, Robbie, may be a pedophile. Kristin says her stepson admitted to her that he had strong sexual urges toward children over a year ago.
TELL DR. PHIL YOUR STORY: Chaos in your life?
“He said the only reason he hadn’t offended them was because they were going to tell,” says Kristin.
WATCH: Psychologist Says Early Developmental Trauma May Lead To Hypersexualized Behavior In Adolescents
Rick says, “It was just such a shock that I didn’t know how to deal with it.”
The couple says they began supervising Robbie 24/7 and tried to find him a treatment facility placement. Then, says Kristin, Robbie threatened that if he didn’t get help that day - he would rape one of his siblings, “So we took him straight to the hospital.”
Kristin and Rick say Robbie has been in treatment for the past year and is due to come home soon, and they don’t know what to do. Can Dr. Phil help?

But why does their son look like my perv band teacher, last year in 7th grade my friend was changing in the girls locker room with me after track practice I already finished changing and was just waiting for her to finish so while I was waiting I went to that bathroom they have in the locker room, and while I’m in the bathroom I hear the door open, then I hear a mans voice(my band teachers voice) so I get up and go to see who it was, then I just saw him staring at my friend she literally froze she was so shocked and terrified,so I started to yell at him and call him out then he started to walk at a fast paste towards me,there’s a fire alarm in the room so I pulled it and then I kicked him in the balls grabbed my friend and ran...that teacher still works at my middle school, they only banned him from the school for 2months for looking at my friend when she was basically naked in her bra and panties.i quit band after that and stay as far away from him as I can.

When doing horrible stuff a person ussualy dissociates that part of brain while the rest can function normaly. You can have a determination and will to do something horrible but the good part of your brain that keeps you in check throws obstacles in your way. Think about brain like a democratic system of neurons that each gives a vote before making a decision as a whole brain. There are no 100% bad people. Its always a "bad" part of the brain that hijacks the rest. Therapist ussualy want to make the good part of the brain take control over the bad part in problematic individuals. So in a way everyone is redeemable in terms of brain function, in the eyes of society tho...not so much. Money is also a big issue on top of that

Society is very much stupid because the minute someone calls for help you attack but if he weren't getting help you'd be saying "GET THAT ******* HELP!" ♡ Some people use Dr. Phil because they have tried everything within their resources. As you can see in this video their child has been recieving psychiatric treatment and is living in a facility. The parents are unhappy with his situation but it is the best they can do with the resources that they have. I think in part they are attempting to spread awareness and reduce the stigma, so other parents who are suffering with similar situations can feel less lonely and have some guidance. However they are also seeking for a better solution and hoping, perhaps naively, that Dr. Phil can provide them with more resources or answer. As you can see, they are good parents, and this is a particularly shameful topic, so you can imagine they must have been particularly desperate to ask for help on TV.

They do actually have medication that significantly reduces libido. I just wish it wasn't such a taboo illness, otherwise more people might seek treatment. By law, therapists don't keep confidentiality if you or someone else's life is in danger so they have to report it to the police. I don't know why people think alienating the worst of the worst fixes anything. They just learn to hide in the shadows and pretend to be your friends/family. I'd rather help someone who has hurt two people control their urges then sit in denial for a family member who has repeatedly done the same for years.

I'm not a mental health professional but I think that sometimes people have OCD which can cause obsessive thoughts regarding things which they consider to be horrible and deep down are afraid of doing those things. At such a young age you can become obsessed with sexual ideation when the body is surging with hormones. If this child was left to his own on the internet this could become worse. Once the child becomes used to getting satisfaction from daydreaming about these ideas it would be really difficult to break this thought pattern which provides pleasure but it all started with obsessive thoughts. Just my personal thoughts. This family did the best they could.

Yeah what do you do seriously if you feel your child has this thinking. A person I know wrote in their journal what's wrong with messing with children? I think people need to know that there is sometimes agendas pushed on people. I also think things get passed down from generation to generations. I think that more convos need to happen

Like Dahmer, yes. It's very possible that when children brought up well adjusted, loved, and not neglected, they can avoid a whole lot of communal suffering that will otherwise happen. Most of not all killers come from some extreme dysfunction or imbalance early on. That sets the scene.

OliveBranch it very much sounds as though his issues developed quickly and became extreme. In my opinion, he must’ve either cared somewhat at the Beginning, or respected his parents enough to actually communicate so much. He even told them he was definitely going to act out on his siblings if they didn’t do something immediately. I understand what you are saying, but.. if he could have very easily Not told his parents anything, and went on to hurt one of his siblings.. does that not count for anything?
