I have watched basketball since 1978 and remember Chucks rookie year in 1984. Mr. Charles Barkley will be missed and was the sole reason I watched the TNT show. His honesty is a quality seldom seen. Charles Barkley did in fact leave the game better then he found it. Good luck Chuck, not sure if anyone can fill your shoes.
@MicrowaveWalrus5 күн бұрын
none of these str8-faced guys can fill Chuck's comic shoes. it's gonna have to be either Gilbert or Lance Stephenson... maybe Dwyane Wade... or a real comic like ... hopefully not kevin hart, but even kevin hart... or like... man i don't know... Justin Timberlake plays basketball well, right? would be cool to see him do it for half a season... or even put a woman like Queen Latifah on there idk. Charles Barkley is one of a kind. I believe it was 1984 when my friends and I went to the Pan Am trials at the Olympic center in Colorado Springs where I grew up. Doug Moe (Nuggets coach) was standing right behind us and when I looked back…and up, he said to us “What are you stiffs doing?” With a smile on his face. We then went in and watched greatness unfold. Michael Jordan, Sam Perkins, Charles Barkley and others were about to be drafted. We had no idea who the “Round Mound of Rebound” was and he looked like he didn’t belong there. We were kind of chuckling about it in the stands. At the tip off, Charles was jumping center and we all looked at each other like “seriously? He’s jumping center?” Charles lifted off the ground like a rocket ship and immediately got our respect. Pure power from the get! Of course, an up and coming Michael Jordan stole the show but that’s another story. 🤣 40 years later Charles announces his retirement from broadcasting. Charles, you don’t know me… but I feel like I’ve known you for 40 years. Thanks for the great memories. One of the toughest players I ever saw.

Charles is the man, straight up and raw truth when speaking to the world. Best part of inside, great story teller and comedian. I know i wont have much incentive to watch much nba beyond my 1 team's games after Chuck/Ernie and Inside is off the air.
