We pray the Rosary nightly with our family. Our kids know how to pray it. And we always tell them “pray the rosary or you’re not on the team”.

Whenever we take a trip, the first thing we do is pray the rosary. It has saved us from certain death or injury on several occasions. Our Blessed Mother protects us with her mantle.

Dr. Marshall, I am 64 years old and went through Catholic schools through HS, I was NEVER taught about the Rosary in such a detailed, beautiful and thorough manner. In fact after 1967 or so, we stopped praying it in class. By God's grace I have had a devotion to praying the Rosary, and have taught my self through saintly books, but how I wish our Priests and nuns would have given us this beautiful explanation. If the Bishop Barrons of the world and our beleaguered priests would throw there hearts and minds to teachings and acting such as you do here, they could turn the tide of this degenerating society of death and have Victory as in Lepanto. God bless you for your ministry. It is imperative! You will go down in the history of the Church as a great lay leader, I feel certain.

I know that the saints hear me. I prayed to St. Jude to help my daughter get a job when she was laid off from her school being closed. In 5 days, she had a job! I focused on the first 3 joyful and the last 2 glorious mysteries of the rosary asking for my daughter to accept her husband's proposal, and she said YES! So, I know prayers work.

There is a rosary in every room in my house including the back yard and the garage.

Once a protestant told me Catholics don't read the Bible, I told her if you attend Mass, you would know there are 3 readings directly taken from the Bible, first from the O ld Testament second from the New Testament and the The Gospel, it is a reading from the Bible as well. And the Our Father. Only we don't select the readings, someone else does that, I don't know who.

My favorite decade is The Scourging At The Pillar..in my mind...I see Jesus stripped of his flesh, bleeding,in severe pain..with His Head against the pillar..I look into His bleeding eyes and say sorry to Him for even the smallest sin I inflicted on Him..!It really hurts me..

Dr. Marshall, my family and I are Byzantine Catholic and pray the Dominican Rosary each evening. However during Great Lent we pray The Rule of the Theotokos. Thank you for mentioning it, and for our Roman brethren, it's worth your spiritual while to check it out! Also, we carry chotkis (prayer ropes) that can be used for reciting the Jesus Prayer (most common), the Angelic Salutation (the Eastern form of the Hail Mary) or other simple prayers. Chotkis commonly are made with 33, 50 or 100 knots and are usually made of wool. May our Lord, God and Savior Jesus Christ bless you all!

I prayed the Rosary today, and I'm glad I did. I was met with all kinds of frustrations, and the Rosary gave me the grace to deal with everything that went wrong. I also wanted to tell you, Dr. Taylor Marshall, that 13 or 14 years ago a friend gave me 2 volumes in paperback of The Missing Books Of The Bible. Because of your references to the Book of Tobit and the Books of the Maccabees in past podcasts, I felt inspired to read these books. I probably started reading them in Dec 20 / Jan 21, and I finished reading them today (Oct 11). I also attended a Latin Mass about 10 times this year. I wanted that church to be my church. I wanted to become Catholic. (I still do.) But the Holy Spirit showed me that it wasn't His will for me to attend that church--for reasons I can't say. Plus with my work schedule (of working till 11 PM on Saturday nights.), the Lord has led me to an evening Sunday service at an Independent Baptist Church. Thanks for all your wonderful teachings of the Catholic Faith. I want to learn more and more from you (and also from Father Chris Alar--a Marion from Massachusetts). You are the two Catholics to whom I listen and from whom I learn. May the Lord bless you and keep you; may He shine His face upon you; and may He bring you peace.

At TLM today during Homily, our priest said that the Illuminous Mysteries are actually NOT a part of original Rosary, from St Dominic, and should not be said on Thursdays as part of the Rosary. It was added my Modern Church. He said it's definitely ok to meditate on the Illuminous Mysteries, but they are NOT part of the Rosary.

Thanks for clearing up the fallacy of "do not pray repetitive prayer" supposedly in the Bible. Someone online was using this to attack the Rosary last January, so now I have ammo to say back to someone if they ever say that again.

Pope Pius V asked the Christian faithful to pray the Rosary and seek the intercession of the Blessed Mother to defeat the Muslim navy ( Lepanto ). Despite being outnumbered, the Christian fleet prevailed. Accordingly, Pope Pius established Oct. 7 as a feast day of Our Lady of Victory, thus perpetually bringing honor to the Blessed Mother for her assistance. In 1573, Pope Gregory XIII (r. 1572-85) changed the name of the feast to Our Lady of the Rosary, a feast the Church continues to celebrate.

I have an awful time with the Rosary. It's so repetitive my mind constantly wanders into outer space. I'm praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet video now for that reason. It seems to work much better for me.

I’m just learning Dr Taylor ..

It's my understanding from my priest, that in ancient times when you repeat a word 3 times it just means 'the most'. Holy, Holier, Holiest. So 3 Holys means Holiest. In addition, in Davidic times the mother of the king, Queen Mother always had her son's, the King, ear. She would intercede. As BV Mary is the Queen Mother she intercedes. This is basic early Jewish custom

Have been a Catholic for a little over a year, trying to continue to grow in my daily life. Question, perhaps an episode for a podcast: There are SO many things to read & study in the faith I feel overwhelmed; what are daily must-reads? For example, the Bible, the Roman Missal, the Magnificant, apps like Laudete on the phone, each diocese usually has their own media, and then there's national media like National Catholic Register, EWTN, etc. Trying to develop a daily routine.
