Lord Randall must admit I haven’t listened to HF for a looong time and never really liked that stuff in any case but I’ve taken a shine to Summoning recently after loathing that shit for years as well so I’m up for giving HF another shot... Tell me though, is any of it seriously on the same level as Drudkh? I already want to re-record the early Drudkh stuff in any case after revisiting those albums and realising I missed a couple of key suspensions here and there (opening Summoning The Rain chord for example is actually 0-7-9-11-9-12)

Lord Randall a keen musician’s eye will probably spot that the solo work is my real forte and that it’s the rhythm where I fall short with my irritatingly small hands and clumsy barres but having gone through pretty much all the guitar wankery that exists out there I can say with absolute conviction that whoever recorded this early Drudkh stuff is one of the most gifted fiddlers to ever pick an axe up so if there’s more exceptional quality that I can use to edge closer to being that all-rounder guitarist myself I’ll absolutely take the time to decode all the chords and play it properly

To Those who Came Before Us and Fog are a couple of good songs to get into Hate Forest with if you're into the musical styles of Drudkh. Also, Roman Saenko is the frontman of both bands. Blood of Kingu is another project of his. Check out Stronghold of Megaliths and Human Bones, or Black Spectral Wings of Shaman by them. 😁

Thank you! :) At the time it was my best guess for how it was played but now I've got every chord from the first 4 albums mapped out to 99% from the originals and it turns out that chorus there is a Vivaldi-like descension of suspension chords which you'll see on the new version here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ldp4gJphsdu1Y6c.html but yeah it's super useful being able to pull out some thumb gymnastics when in doubt heheh

mr jubjub Standard E, all of them 👍🏻 It would be a nightmare to tab this stuff out with all the 6 string chords everywhere but I maybe could do some for the solos if what I’m doing roughly is too indistinct in the vids

P H I was thinking maybe some Lunar Aurora or Coldworld next but maybe... I’d love to do A Thousand Winters but my 7 string is abroad... It’s tough to find the motivation to do more vids when some of the last ones I made have like 80 views in 4 months but that’s the genre I suppose 💔

@@shingomurata Yea, it's the genre and there's not that many Drudkh covers on here. Lunar Aurora were another fantastic band but are even lesser known. You'd probably get more views if it was Behemoth, Mgla, Mayhem etc...Have you seen Simon Smith's channel? he does a lot of great black metal videos.

I’m actually closer to Ukraine than home right now but I don’t really know any other musicians who’d be up to the task so that sounds ideal :) Twitter / Steam / Discord are where I live these days so perhaps you can chill with me there, I actually intended to do a couple more Drudkh covers earlier this year but I dropped that idea when I discovered Golden Horse... That has to be the most amazing song I’ve ever listened to so as soon as my hand heals I’ll be doing that first! After that I’ll do a whole bunch of others by Lunar Aurora and ColdWorld and A Forest Of Stars and other favourites... Some of them will feel extremely easy coming from Drudkh 😂

Church of YHWH I punched a metal door after stubbing a toe on it... Door battered me to be honest... My right middle finger knuckle cracked so gripping anything with it has been a nightmare these last few weeks 😂 Watch out by the way I missed a key note here and there with some of these songs before I recorded ‘em... Intro chords I use here now are: 5 7 9 6 5 5 8 10 9 9 10 7 6 8 7 7 5 5 If you don’t have the ones at the very end those are: 12 12 11 12 12 12 15 14 14 12 12 12 13 12 12 10 10 10 I’ll maybe have to redo this one too and bash out the full rhythm rather than the solo being the main area of focus

Hehehe I'm self taught so I have a lot of weird habits but hey if you like this album I've almost finished doing 10x better versions with all the things I'd missed in 2018 rolled in :) Eternity and the outro track left now but they're almost good to go as well so Blood In Our Wells will finally be complete soon
