This will be interesting. I haven't started to listen yet. The recording mix has the drums so low. I suspect the drums are swung, but the bass could be interpreted as either straight or swung as it is walking and the guitar is definitely straight 8ths. Commercial still playing........I will wright as I hear the part....O.K as I listen, the ride cymbal is vague and can be interpreted either way with quarters, just like the bass line. The occasional swing in the ride puts in between the cracks which would have been period appropriate as drummers were not straight 8th players yet. The swing notes on the hi hat, if they are closer to each other (16ths) and less triplet sounding will also lend to this between the cracks feel. It's very cool. It's neither and it's both. It's original rock and roll ie: jazz and R&B influenced with Chuck just playing 8ths, but also some of his solo licks are swung. Great job on this.
