A little about me and this channel:
My name is James Aubrey IV and I just recently graduated college from Iowa State University. After college I decided to take a leap of faith. So I moved to San Diego California to pursue my passion for videography/ KZfaq. Overall I'm a pretty chill person, outside of KZfaq I like to longboard, dance, play video games, lift weights and hangout with my friends. I know that success on KZfaq won't happen overnight but I'm willing to stay patient and put in the work to try to prefect my craft daily. This KZfaq channel will be centered around my life after college. You will be able to see all of the ups and downs on my journey to success. So if you like the content make sure you subscribe so you can be apart of the Rome Life Family. (Let's build our own personal Rome's together.)
What is the Rome Life ? And What does it mean to be apart of it?
Rome Life is something I started during my Sophomore year of high school (one of the worst times in my life) it started off as me documenting my journey to recovery from my shoulder surgery but eventually it turned into a platform that I could use to encourage myself as well as others to chase our dreams.
Rome Life isn't just a saying it's a way of life and for the people who want to be apart of it have to realize that. Rome wasn't built in a day it took a lot of handwork time and most importantly patience. So you can't expect your dreams to be any different
This is a reaction video used to educated and give my feedback on the song and artist

"overlooked by most? Who is "most"? DO you know "most" Rush fans? Actually the Rush fans from the 70's or early 80's that grew up with them had LPs with lyrics and liner notes and we read every word on them. That was a big part of enjoying an album. Maybe your music comes stripped down from a digital source. Neil wrote most of the lyrics but not all - certainly nothing on their first album.

@@blacklight4460 In general though, most of the early Rush fans focus 95% on the music and less on the lyrics - as evidenced by them being very vocal about abandoning the guys throughout most of the 80's and dissing the synth era. If they were to listen to the lyrics equally, they would appreciate lines like "sometimes our big splashes, are just ripples in the pool" or "Spirits fly on dangerous missions , imaginations on fire" just as much as Alex's solo in La Villa, or Geddy's vocals in 2112.

Almost forgot: Don’t feel bad about not knowing who Neil Peart was. I’m sure most Rush fans will agree: Rush has been criminally under appreciated for YEARS. It’s a low down dirty shame that these 3 exceptionally talented musicians had been overlooked by Rock N Roll Hall of Fame for so many years, despite earning 50+ gold, platinum and double platinum records over the past 47 years. They were only inducted (after releasing their last studio album) in 2013, nearly 40 years after the release of their first album.

@@19DrumFreak89 I hear you, but among the folks with whom I frequently socialize, none can name a single member of Rush?! Personally, I easily consider Lifeson to be one of the best guitarists I’ve ever listened to. I have several copies of “Victor” (Lifeson’s solo project from 90’s) where he just cuts loose, something not often heard with Rush? I’d encourage all Rush fans to check out both Victor and Lee’s solo album called “My Favorite Headache” from 2000. These solo albums were recorded during those tragic years when Peart suffered the loss of both his wife and daughter within 6 months. That six year break led to the release of “Vapor Trails”, one of my all-time favorite Rush albums. Despite the release of the Vapor Trails Remix, I still prefer the noisy, clipped original release. “Ceiling Unlimited” is simply sublime.

NO!!! IT MEANS MEANS, CLOSED MINDED AND IGNORANT. THAT neil peart guy TREATED THE FANS AS DIRT. NEVER WANTED AND NEVER TOOK THE TIME FOR THEM. I HAD THAT EXPERIENCE. THAT BACKUP MY COMMENTS. Let me give you a couple of names, DAVE WECKL Considered TOP DRUMMER IN JAZZ, FUSION. He has an amazing sensibility, when he plays hard and aggressive he can make jump out of your seat. HE IS INCREDIBLE NICE WITH THE FANS. I'VE SEEN HIM TWICE. HERE IS A LITTLE STORY, HE WAS ON TOUR AND ABOUT 2 MONTHS BEFORE I EMAILED HIM ASKING IF I BRING A DRUMHEAD HE COULD SIGN IT FOR MY DAD. DIDN'T ANSWER. CONCERT DAY HE DECIDED TO DO A DRUM CLEANIC. I STARTED TO APPROACHED HIM AND I ASKED HIM IF HE COULD SIGNED AND HE DIDN'T LET ME FINISH AND TOLD ME, "YOU ARE THE GUY WHO WANTS ME TO SIGN AND DRUMHEAD FOR YOU DAD. AFTER THE CONCERT I WILL SIGN IT AND TALKED TO YOU" CONCERT ENDED CAME OUT THE STAGE GRAB A BEER, AND HE ASKED ME, "SO THE DRUMHEAD IS FOR YOUR DAD?" I SAID, YES!!! HE IS THE ONE THAT INTRODUCE ME IN YOUR MUSIC" AFTER THAT I ASKED HIM IF I COULD HAVE A PICTURE TAKEN WITH ME AND HE WAS SO COOL. NEXT TIME IF SEE YOU I HOPE YOU CAN SIGN IT AND A DRUMHEAD FOR ME" HE TOLD ME, "ABSOLUTELY" ANOTHER TOUR CAME UP AND HE PLAY IN MY CITY. I GOT TO THE VENUE EARLIER AND HE SAW ME AND CAME TO ME AND TOLD ME IN A VERY COOL WAY "HOW ARE YOU DOING!!? AND HE TOLD ME AFTER THE CONCERT I'LL SEAT AND TALK TO YOU, BUT NOW LET ME TAKE YOU INSIDE THE VENUE AND WATCH THE SOUND CHECK" CONCERT ENDED AND CAME TO ME AND ASKED ME "DID YOUR DAD LIKE THE DRUMHEAD? FROM MY LITTLE BAG I PULLED A PICTURE OF MY DAD WITH THE DRUMHEAD IN ONE HAND A LITTLE SHEET OF PAPER SAYING "THANK YOU FOR THE WONDERFUL AUTOBIOGRAPH!! HE WAS STUNT.... THEN HE SAID, DO YOU HAVE THE PICTURE OF US? I PULLED IT OUT SIGNED IT AND TOLD ME "WHATEVER YOU HAVE I'LL SIGN THEM" AT THAT POINT HE HAD PROBABLY ABOUT 7 ALBUMS" You will never going to read or hear from a fan a nice story about that guy. NEVER!!!!! This is This one is AKIRA JIMBO. Japanese. Band CASIOPEA. HE HAS THE MOST INCREDIBLE INDEPENDENCE THAT NOBODY HAVE BEING ABLE TO DO WHAT HE DOES.

I watched some of "The Decline of Western Civilization Part ?" where Gene Simmons made fun of Rush members because they were reading rather than getting laid and partying. obviously Rush is more technical as musicians than KISS (sucks). guys have followed them around the world for decades. with the same fans in the front rows they watched each other getting older like receding hair lines and some fans gained weight lol. seeing Rush 100 times is not out of the question.

Lakeside park, tom Sawyer, ghost of a chance, roll the bones, new world man, the fountain of lamneth, the temples of spyrinx, tears, lessons, I could go on for days. As awesome as his drumming is, the man was well read, poetic, socially conscious, and in general a deep person with compassion for the world he lived in. That's his real legacy. He married one woman, stayed with her until her death. Was not a drunk or druggy like so many rock and roll musicians of that era. And you seriously belittle and insult him calling it "drumming" the man was a percussionist. Perfectionist. In later interviews he mentioned he hated playing tom Sawyer live for the fans because even for him it was so hard to do it right every time, and he felt he cheated his fans if it wasn't perfect every time. That gentleman is the mark of a professional percussionist that loved the craft more than his ego.

My heart broke the day he died. To know I will never be at a Rush concert ever again for the rest of my life is a feeling I can't describe. How lucky was I to grow up with this. I missed one of their concerts when I was about 15 and I've kicked myself in the ass, over that ever since. And it was a real heart breaker when, I found out he passed away. I'm a young guy compared to most rush fans, but they are in my top 5 favorite bands of all time still.

It broke my heart too. I didn't even know he was ill. I don't think anyone did. Brain cancer is one hell of a nasty way to go. He didn't deserve it. And at my grand old age of 22, I am beyond upset I never got to see Rush/Neil live in person. They've been added to the ever growing list of bands I'll never experience. Rock In Peace Neil Peart 🤘🥁

Very few people master anything to the level Neil mastered the drums. He was also a lifelong student. Even once he was well established as one of the greatest rock drummers of all time, he still sought out lessons from teachers who he could learn different styles from. Truly dedicated to his craft. And yet he was also the bands lyricist as well as a prolific author. Fun fact he used to bicycle from city to city while on tour. This man knew how to live to the fullest. Just an incredible human being. Experience to extreme!

Neil Peart (pronounced pEErt) was nicknamed the “professor” since he made a series of instructional videos for drummers. His career spanned from the late 1960’s to 2018. That’s roughly 50 years! During that time he spent countless hours perfecting his art, and worked with/mentored under numerous drumming greats. The solo you just saw (and his set) is the culmination of years, and years of study. Neil said he was always trying to improve, and perfect his solos. Is he the greatest drummer of all time? That’s pretty subjective. I would say that their are other solos by other artists out there that are comparable to Neil’s, but they’re different in style, feel, and sound. I’m sure if Neil were alive today he would say that his playing is a recipe inspired by generations of drummers. Personally, I think he IS the greatest drummer of his time, and will be remembered as a legend for generations to come. I’m glad you had the opportunity to be exposed to his art. Thank you for the video. Stay safe.

Small correction, Neil had been called the professor since long before those instructional videos. On the All the World's a Stage live album, Geddy even introduces Neil as the Professor when he starts his drum solo. He also retired in 2015 when they finished their last tour. You can never have too much Neil!

From what I've heard, Neil recognized the greats that he learned from, that he stood on the shoulders of giants. This particular solo give homage to the jazz drummers like Buddy Rich. This solo, while awesome, isn't his best work- his best work was with his bandmates Geddy and Alex, and the amazing music they produced for 40+ years.
