I absolutely love Stewart's drumming, but he did use a lot of overdubs and delay to make it sound fuller, it sounds incredible, his creativity is really what stands out to me, I don't think I'll ever hear a more unique drummer again in my lifetime, amazing

I know F.A about drumming but that song, particularly the drums and percussion, has hypnotised and delighted me since I was a child. I came to this video after playing the song on the school run half an hour ago, my boys 8 and 5 are really enjoying the Police and we have just bought eldest a drum kit for xmas, since he is having lessons. I will use your fine tutorial to attempt to recreate the groove when I can get beyond wondering which end of the stick to hold... Thanks!
