How would you tune your snare to sound like how yours did when you filmed that? It's a crack sound in my book.

@@brandondrummechanics Brandon, I had a question for you that felt too long to leave as a comment here and messaged you on Instagram. If that is not a good contact method do you have a way I can reach out?

Finally someone brings this up! It is just like playing with vs against the springs with your pedals. Use the sticks weight to do the hard work and once u can control it it is golden. The faster blasty stuff I play is 2B all day and at this point in my technique is easy. It uses to be hard, but if I just remember that if it is hard you are playing against vs with.

SO HUGE!!! I’ve got a pedal thorn force one planned.. harder to organize tho! But it’ll be good :/)

@@brandondrummechanics what is thorn force? Or was is supposed to be thrown? Honestly anything about how the cam shape changes how you play and respond to the pedal would be great. I just stick with the perfect circle style so my swing is the same both ways.

Good morning, Brandon. You always deliver thought provoking material. I wanted to get your thoughts on whether you feel that practicing with marching sticks is beneficial? I have the dreaded ganglion cyst on the top and bottom of my right wrist, as well as carpet tunnel, so as you can imagine, when I put in a good amount of time on just hand work, my wrist acts up.

I wish Regal Tip would make more 5Bs, that was the perfect stick for my rock gigs. Sucks they don’t make them anymore.

Suck when they stopping your favourite stick! My favourite stick has been on back order for 8 months. Boo

Interesting analysis but I kind of feel like this is just a demonstration of the obvious. If you're talking about not injuring yourself then technique is more of a factor than size... just like in the pool or running. I use various size sticks for different things and have never injured my hands. But I use and practice good technique, don't hold the sticks too tightly, use natural rebound as much as possible, etc. Just like running or swimming you can't expect to start playing a new stick without some training. Your hands have to understand and learn the movement with that stick size before you can play them effectively without hurting yourself... even smaller 7As take some work.
