A wonderful interview! The outer body experience, neurologist call it the "flow state". I believe it is when we exteriorize away from our body as a spirit and watch from the outside. Definitely something all artists can experience if they are immersed in the art of their communication. A lot of concept here from two great drummers! Great to listen to. Thanks Terry and Billy.

THANK YOU BILLY FOR THIS...i could write a chapter about thoughts, feelings, and what nots, about what i thought or knew about billy cobham...but i see still confidence, cockiness, comfort, grace and the willing to teach others...it would be great to learn from you. ...and i am sure it would cost a bundle...so for now..thank you for your inspiring words and i learned a bunch from this video...i saw you many years ago in Tempe at Chuy's during the powerplay album...i wanted to get a drum stick --however, i did get your autograph from an assistant...thank you....and as far as that gig in paris w/ mahavishnu in the 70-'s you spoke of...wtf.. you were going crazy on those drums-hard,powerful,fast, maybe it was an out of body experience the audience looked mesmerized...and not one soul on a daym cell phone--let alone leave to go potty or get a hot dog(no way!) that crowd was about the music!!...,,,...hot dayum man you must have lost 20 pounds that night...peace!

Thank you Terry. Fantastic job here and I will never forget seeing you in Vancouver in fall '75 with Frank and I didn't really follow instruments much I was a young teen but I remember thinking "wow" when I watched you ;) And of course Bill thank you too!.... When I bought Tribute to JJ at a thrift shop bin. I had no idea....I was curious....it was cheap so didn't hit the pocket hard but??? When the needle dropped on " Right off" Another"Wow" moment for me. Thank you gentleman.

I first saw Mr. Cobham in Boston at E.U. Wurlitzer's with Dom Famularo in the fall/winter of '84. What an incredible memory. To finally see one of my biggest heroes (I was in 6th grade at the time and Live on Tour in Europe was pretty much on repeat that whole year) right in front of me was, well, "magic."

Sorry Terry! When MO opened for Jeff Beck at Winterland, Narada Michael Walden was the drummer.

Nice interview, and one thing I've noticed, long ago, is that most 'giants' are great to hang on with. They're nice Human Beings to start with! I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that they don't have to prove anything to you and me. Thank you for sharing! ps Miles was probably a master psychologist and a great Humanist, altough we mostly hear funny stories about him. It must have been something, to hang with him!

05:12 "all those players, from all hose different communities". that's exactly the reason why jazz was born. the only form of art originating in america could do so simply because only in america it was possible to put together so many influences from so many cultures. and today's imbeciles talking about raising walls to keep people out. such an idiocracy.
