Aquiles Priester is a legendary brazilian drummer, he was the drummer for power metal band Angra (Kiko Loureiro from Megadeth former band) and Shaman. He actually did a tour with Dragonforce in 2020 when their drummer got sick. You should react to Shaman - Fairy Tale and Angra - Carry on. Amazing songs!

I love his drum work and I have used the exact same gloves for years, the ahead gloves are excellent for grip on the sticks, it is a little harder to do stick tricks until the gloves are broke in. The gloves also feature small holes in the palms so your hands don't sweat at all. My first pair cost me 40 dollars and lasted 5 years with metal drumming hardcore everyday including 2 tours and countless studio and practice sessions in that time frame as well. Love your content brother, keep it up. Maybe you can do a reaction video on one of my drum videos. I'm celebrating my 36th year as a drummer this year. 😁🤘

Aquiles has been one of my favourite drummers since he took over from Frankie Banali (RIP) in WASP in 2018, Frankie was one of drummers I listened to since his Quiet Riot days when they toured with Black Sabbath in 1983, Geezer had bronchitis when they were scheduled for Vancouver, the show was cancelled and I missed out but I saw Quiet Riot in '84 with Kickaxe and Whitesnake. Anywho, Quiet Riot was easy to play and Frankie kept his style pretty basic like most 80s rock bands, a lot easier than Dave Lombardo of Slayer and Iron Maiden's Nicko McBrain that influenced me but when Frankie joined WASP he took his skills to another level, IMHO The Crimson Idol is one of the greatest metal concept albums of all time and a lot of it has to do with Frankie. If (When) you listen to The Crimson Idol you'll understand why Aquiles was the only guy who could have filled Frankie's shoes. Eloy Casagrande, ex-Sepultura & rumoured to be Slipknot's new drummer, was a protege of Aquiles', all-female death metal band Crypta's drummer Luana Dametto was a protege of both of them. And if you're wondering what Jay Weinberg's been doing since leaving Slipknot, he's been uploading live cam videos from his gigs with Infectious Grooves, a side-project of Suicidal Tendencies vocalist Mike Muir and Metallica bassist Rob Trujillo. That all said, check out Aquiles playing WASP's Chainsaw Charlie off The Crimson Idol, he uploaded that in 2022 I think, and the WASP Opening Medley from a few weeks back in March 2024.

Gloves are purely personal preference. Same as how some drummers prefer playing with socks on or even barefoot. If you have sweaty hands, better use them so they don't slip easily.

There's a video where he explains why he changes gloves and underneath he uses bandages because of the calluses. When he was at Angra, he only used bandages. His drumsticks have a system where they are held so they don't slip, and he says all this because he practically plays music at this speed all the time, so there is almost zero chance of the drumstick falling out of his hand when playing so fast and hard. And their hands really sweat a lot.
