My Apocalypse is criminally underrated imo

Suicide & Redemption contains one of the best James Hetfield's solos in my opinion (24:24-24:53) You can find the version of this song with FULL James' solo on GUITAR HERO rendition of Death Magnetic

Fun fact: the first guitar solo in Suicide & Redemption, without the wah-wah effect, is played by James.

I don't know how it hasn't been brought up yet but in the opening of Cyanide they're saying SOS in Morse Code in the Guitars (The parts you called alien shit)

To me? This album hangs out with “Justice” as their most technical albums…not a bad track on the album. You may like some more than others, but would you skip any of this shit? Fuck no! It’s a really good album!

Let me tell you when I first heard this album when it came out? I wasn't feeling That Was Just Your Life as the intro song? And Metallica is my band, I stuck with them through Load, ReLoad and St. Anger. But I saw them three times during that World Magnetic Tour. It starts out with the Ecstacy of Gold then the lights go out and that heartbeat and the intro recording plays to that was Just Your life with a cool laser light show that matches the music as it builds up to the main riff it is the recording up to that point. Then the stage lights kick on and James is playing the main riff live and Lars hitting his snare way louder then when the rest of the band kicks in? explosions and pyro go off...Now when I hear that intro to That was Just Your Life? it takes me back to those live performances that is why now my favorite song on Death Magnetic is That was Just Your Life.

I’d recommend reacting to beyond magnetic if you weren’t going to already. It’s got some great tracks, especially hate train. edit: oh haha I commented this halfway through the video

I’m probably the only one that thinks Suicide And Redemption is Metallica’s best instrumental. The solos, the riffs, the harmonies, and the breakdowns in this song. It’s just so fucking brutal and I love it! What a masterpiece 🤘🤘

I’m an old school Thrasher, so I’m partial to “My Apocalypse”!it’s their first true Thrasher since “Dyer’s Eve” seriously 20 years before. Really though, not a bad track on this fuckin album!!!

Cyanide - my least favourite song on the album, but that just showes how great the album is The Unforgiven III - my favourite of the trilogy The Judas Kiss - one of my favourites overall, love to play along with the live version Suicide & Redemption - my favourite instrumental. Beacuse all the others are in Cliff's shadow and this is the first song to shine on its own My Apocalypse - love the bridge riff and also play along to live version So, Death Magnetic is the classic 'Tallica album. If it was realeased in the '80s it would be a classic as Master or Justice And it has the same formula as the classics: Album opener with slow guitar intro (Only thing missing is a title track in the second slot) 4th song is a 'ballad' Second to last song is an instrumental Album closer a fast shorter trash banger (where the bridge riff was written by Kirk, as well as the Damage Inc bridge riff)

all nightmare long is second longest on the album after suicide, if im not wrong its almost 10 min long and they have played suicide live once if im not misstaking in copenhagen 2009

We're quite a far with our picks hahaha. Ok, first of my overall rating for the album : probably a 6.5/10. Not a bad one, but I think we all overhyped after it was released as pleasantly surprised we were. The production really gets me on the nerves... I'm so annoyed by it sometimes. I don't know... My thoughts exactly. I think Cyanide is the weakest track on the album. Any of the 4 songs on the Beyond Magnetic EP should of made the cut over Cyanide. Rebel of Babylon, or Hate Train shouldve made the cut instead of Cyanide to me. Please react to Beyond Magnetic and give us your thoughts on leaving any of those tracks out 🙏..
