I dont know how they are constantly able to be so technical but still retain that catchiness where if this came on the radio, any person could jam to it. The songwriting is insane.

I saw them in NYC this past October. They are consistently tight, energetic and joyful performing live.

She's dubbed "the happiest drummer on earth" because she's ALWAYS smiling while playing. That shows how much they all enjoy playing and being on stage . Something a lot of bands are missing now a days.

There are some truly great Japanese Bands and some outstanding all Women Japanese rock bands. But far and away out on top and have been for years are Band Maid. They just never over do anything. Everything fits so well and nicely together. Be it a Rock Song or a slightly quirky Band Maid genre song. Every thing is a jigsaw piece. Is the drum piece too big? No never just perfect. Guitar solo piece over long? No never just perfect. Bass solo intrusive? Never just fits right in. Having just gone back and listened to the old Albums. They are always evolving and just getting better. Oh and yes Akane just makes life better when you hear or see her play the drums. A pure gift.

MISA instead of playing a solo, plays the Lead for this entire song. Other than her guitar solo, Kanami basically played rhythm with Miku for this song. And MISA was playing the lead. And Akane has said in several interviews that she practices CONSTANTLY. There was a brief mention by I think her, but it may have been MISA, of practicing 12-15 hours a day for a week straight, then easing back to practicing 10-12 hours a day 5 days a week, then easing further back to 6-8 hours 4 days a week, to get ready for when they did their pre-US tour in Japan. But she basically spent 6 weeks practicing to get back to her normal level. When she has said her normal practice level is 2-3 hours a day 3-5 times a week. On her practice pads, her e-drum kit, and several different standard kits.

They put on their "Battle Armor" and go out to do what they were born to do. At an extraordinary level of Talent and Professionalism. What I especially love about this MV, is it reminds everyone how talented Miku is and she's singing her lyrics.

If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? No, *Akane* is using it for her next set of drum sticks.

Freedom was my introduction to Band-Maid. I wasn't sure after watching the MV: were they really outstanding, or were they just doing easy things well? They made it look so simple. So I watched a reaction by a musician, and he confirmed that they were excellent musicians and they made difficult things _look_ easy. Akane was an excellent drummer; Kanami an excellent guitarist, and so on. So I watched more Band-Maid ... and more ... and more. Now I am an addict. And they are outstanding musicians and so enjoyable. But I still like hearing musicians react to Band-Maid. It was interesting hearing ni this reaction that Akane plays flams so well -- I think you could set your watch by her timing she is so accurate. Even when her band members pull faces at her.

I think you would enjoy Wagakki Band. It’s another Japanese band but has both male and female musicians that are all pros at their particular instrument. A song I would recommend is Senbonzakura or if you can Six trillion years and an overnight story.

She's like Starr, Bonham, Paice and Moon all rolled into one. And she smiles. 99% of drummers look like they are trying to hold in a fart. You say youve been a fan following them for years but since this isnt as reactions on your channel ive no idea what youve heard.. You obviously love them- have you heard all their albums and EPs? Theres lots of songs that are specifically great for drumming if you like to mostly react to drum related songs? Have you heard their amazing new instrumental from now on? Its fantastic for showing off all their skills- mainly Kanami - but you should react to it if youve never heard it! HATE, also from the new EP, has fantastic drummming too. A previous instrumental without holding back also has great drumming.. If you check those out you want the music videos (its just them playing it) Or in hates case, the album track.
