I'll never be a drummer, and I'll never be in a band, but I am fascinated by the variables. The floor Tom sounding like a second bass drum may be the trend, but I've always liked it. However, I prefer less overtones. Some people will tune their drums individually. Others will tune their drums to a specific cord. This is subject to your preference and capability (acustics is art). After that, it depends on what type of drums, electrons, the band as a whole, the song, acoustics, and technician? I copy what I can not hear. After deveolping my ear, I choose. I like both heads with the same note and all edges tuned as closely as possible. B key major mode like churchill downs. My Question as a beginner: Do you select drums for each song, or (crazy ?) do you tune your drums to each song(😳)? I'm assuming you select certain drums to play for certain songs, then flip preset switches per key change. The other question is, can (pro/ amateurs)a gig be played in one key?
@Haze_amaze_4 ай бұрын
I don’t look at it that deep. When I tune I try to achieve 3 things, I tune to where I think the drum is comfortable, feels good for me, and sounds good for whatever genre I am playing. I tune different for different songs if I am recording. But when I am playing a live gig, most times I’m not playing a bunch of different genres on one gig, and if I am… then I’ll tune a to happy medium that fits all songs for that gig

Snare buzz! Try again (loosen the 4 lugs nearest to the wires) It won't affect sound much but will greatly reduce buzz
@benbarnier37256 ай бұрын
Listen kid… you don’t know what you’re talking about. This guy knows what he’s doing. And what you said is so wrong. There’s a perfect amount of buzz and loosening only certain lugs is so bad for the rim. You try again loser
