CorvusCorone68 ya get it in the Chinese and it’s basically a bag with chicken, chips and sometimes there’s fried veg all covered in chili and I think there’s some kind of sugar in it. In some places it comes with rice or noodles and curry. Absolutely incredible when you’re drunk 😊

Using this guy ☹ didn't really give the impression that you meant it as a lighthearted jab. Anything in the smiley category may have worked better, but to back up my belief on how emojis are largely unnecessary - this probably would have come off as a joke if you simply hadn't used one at all.

sebec517 it’s from this really specific area in New York (Rochester). It’s half a plate of home style fries and half a plate of macaroni salad, and then you top it with hot dogs halved, then with browned beef with spices and onions, and then on top of that you put stripes of ketchup and mustard. It’s a thing of monstrous beauty and is much beloved in its native region. It’s one of those dishes that everyone adores and would die defending but everyone has their own opinion on which recipe is the best.

I've never seen the garbage plate in CA. In Los Angeles, there's bacon wrapped street hotdogs, street taco trucks, and 24 hr Korean food. Also, Korean food has an entire cuisine dedicated to food to eat while drinking (anju) - spicy rice cakes, fruit plates, corn with cheese, blood sausage, pork with lettuce wraps, Korean fried chicken, KBBQ, just to name a few.

Its origin is from Rochester New York. Called a Garbage plate from Nick Tahou's its really popular around there and a few other places. Great drunk food. The whole thing was thats where people went when the bars closed. (My moms from rochester)

Jack nailed it. The US is so big that it's hard to have a food that's not regional. Granted, garbage plates are extremely regional. Pizza might be a better overall representation, but there are so many different styles from all around the country.

Yeah, I've never seen a garbage plate either...I'm originally from the Philly area, and the best drunk food on the PLANET is a Geno's cheesesteak with fried onions and hot peppers...or a Hawaiian pizza, I'm good either way!
