@syid A "box rule" is a 1 meter long measuring tape that folds up into 250mm long and when folded up it is 10mm thick. I used this for spacing out my bricks dry i.e. with 10mm cross joints. Its the yellow thing I have in my hand.

It is a 1m folding rule. You did not supply an image or a link so I assume it is the correct one Steven

good bricklayer does that with his eye as he lays them. To lay your brick like that takes twice as long and twice the cost. Also the cross or head joint is formed by you sliding the brick down and not pushing against previous brick. Pressing or using a shove joint makes a more solid joint. Most any spec I have read in past 46 years all call for full shove joint.

Yo PaddleDog. What would you do if my videos were not here for you to comment on? I can't wait to see your skills on the trowel in your next video. O wait, you have no videos i.e. your all talk!

so you disagree with what I said
@PaddleDogC57 жыл бұрын
I see you blocked me on youtube.I don't have time for videos yet.
@PaddleDogC57 жыл бұрын
so you are going to pick up every brick and place it twice? OK idf price is not object but then you would still not have a shoved joint.
@PaddleDogC57 жыл бұрын
One brick you laid you tapped it at least 11 times! LOL not sure if the others were more!

Why would you dry bond,you have the one but last course to line up with,seems a wast of time to me.
@hickeymaster5 жыл бұрын
It's just a guide for beginners, to get used to keeping the cross joints even.
