Do this once a week and watch your nails transform! I used 50 ml (1.5 oz) of a mixture of jojoba, avocado, grape seed oil, and sunflower oil. *not sponsored
OR you can use only jojoba for soaks and then add the other oils to use them as your daily oil to apply on your nails and skin around the nails after each hand wash.
Can you reuse oil? Please use your common sense. Pure jojoba is very heat stable and it does not go bad when heated. Other oils might not be as stable when heated.
If the oil smells off- throw it out. It doesn't have the benefits you are looking for.
Jojoba amzn.to/3y9qLcW
Avocado oil amzn.to/3MKG93F
Sweet almond oil amzn.to/3KGfTGn
Grapeseed oil amzn.to/3s9ut2y
The Ordinary Squalene amzn.to/3LHNWza
Proportions:
I like using jojoba as main oil and then I add approx. 25% of other oil/s.
I like to add oils rich in linoleic acid which are great for repairing skin barrier (oils like sunflower oil, safflower oil or grapeseed oil). These oils are also very light and won't feel greasy on the skin.
Avocado oil and sweet almond oil are a bit heavier but they are great for dry skin or in the winter.

I love your content. I've had splitting nails for the past 5+ years. I've asked salon manicurists, a dermatologist and other doctors how to treat my nails. None of them knew or seemed to care. They were not the ones suffering with the pain when they tore. Again many, many thanks. Please keep up the good advice.

@@LaneyaWiles I had acryl nails for almost 5 years . One day I decided to take them out on my own . I watched some videos from other people on KZfaq…. Total disaster. My nails were damaged and also they heart me so much . The broke every day more and more . Then I found this channel . With patience and following the instructions they look much much better and they got stronger . I started with oil soaking and dry manicure and I am really happy with the results. The only thing I have to practice is to form my nails . I don’t trust my self and don’t feel confident to do alone . But at the same time I don’t trust anyone anymore . Give it a chance and you’ll not regret it!

I first watched this about 8 months ago. My nails had been terrible for about x3 years. Dry, flaking, peeling really badly, raised horizontal lines, a weird peach colour. I wore pale nail varnish to hide them. I put it down to health issues. After this video, I stopped wearing varnish & constantly rubbed Argon oil over my nails (and hands) especially while watching TV in the evening. After around x6 weeks, they started improving, so I filled them across with an emery. They grew again, a strong straight shape, the colour is normal, the ridges disappeared, they’re getting better and stronger all the time, I’m so happy! Thank you for all your good work! 😊

I was so glad to have found your channel a few years ago. The information that you share and teach is information that I have learned over the last 20 years of doing my own nails. All the youtube channels and some websites I had found (until I found yours), even with certified nail techs and nail instructors, give wrong information. There is one site that parrots Doug Schoon's info as their own to sell their product, and then puts a tiny byline somewhere. Also, a recent video from a well-loved nail instructor on youtube shocked me because I thought she was on the up and up for the most part. All that to say I truly appreciate your passion, the research you do, and the care you take to inform and avoid misinforming. It is really nice to know that I can rely on the 'new to me' information you share as being correct and not harmful in any way. Thank you so much for that!

Jojoba molecules are the smallest of any oil (it's technically an ester, yes). This is why it's great for the nails, the molecules can fit the deepest between the "shingles." A few years back there was a shortage so I switched to fractonated coconut oil for giving massage, which is now commonly available in any food store as "MCT Oil." This has molecules nearly as small as jojoba so it's also very light and absorbs well (doesn't leave clients greasy). Both are extremely non-irritating to the skin for most people. Oils that are thicker -- for instance, castor oil is one of the thickest oils -- have the largest molecules. Personally that's why I just use straight jojoba for my nails, because I figure getting it in deeply is the whole point.

So helpful you are both educating us on the real problems with real solutions. This all explains why I could get some benefit from nail strengtheners from June and Olive or NailTech…then end up worse than when I started with low, low horizontal cracks. I was over hardening without adding in the flexibility. I am currently in a long term treatment phase, based on all your recommendations, but I still plan to send in my pics soon for evaluation..! I have my own cuticle/hot oil mix, 2:1 jojoba to Vitamin E. Vitamin E helps with both hydration and reducing nail yellowing from frequent polishing. It's also an anti-oxidant, so it protects nails from free-radical damage. So with the jojoba, it's like a 1-2 punch to keep nails healthy and strong. My nails and cuticles look and feel so much better now that I'm using oil more effectively on them.

Dear Dear Anna, Thank you for your dedication to nail care and all your patient explanations. I found you after I removed one too many gel polishes. My nail were thin and peeling. I had a bottle of China Glaze cuticle oil and have used it for about 2 months now and my nail are almost fully grown out from the damage, my splitting issues seem resolved too. The process is slow but that is the reality of recovery from the damage - as you say. I think that they are looking really good and they seem stronger than ever! I followed your instruction to use cuticle oil after washing - all day and before bed. I have done the warm oil treatment - that felt Soo good! I've kept my nails trimmed short as you recommended in one of your videos. I am thrilled that my nails are looking and feeling so good! I'm in BC, Canada, and can find some of the products you recommend - I tried CND Rescue Rxx and I seemed to have a reaction as my hands got wildly itchy. The CND Solar oil seems ok. I took off the last gel polish myself with the CND remover and special pads. I plan to get another gel mani when I go away for several weeks, as they do last long and I will get it removed without getting another one for a long time. In the past I have gotten manis with regular polish from time to time but mainly I have natural nails. Thank you so much for all your great information to help us have healthy nails!

Thank you so much for this information. My nails are thin and dry and prone to vertical splitting. Glad I found your channel! Will definitely try the oil soak. I'm finding drugstore emory boards too coarse and rough for fragile nails. Could you discuss/recommend filing products for different nail types? Or if you have already done so direct me to the video?

I love your channel as I have learned so much! I just ordered the oils for the nail soaking. I just got some other oil to apply to my nails at night and I purchased the soap you said was not drying to hands. I was concerned since I wear contacts and I definitely don’t want oily hands to insert them, but I love this soap! It has a slight oily feel when applied but when you are rinsing they don’t feel oily but they also don’t feel dry! I think I am on the road to better nails! ❤

Hi Anna, just found your channel and love it. Particularly interested in the warm oil treatment as I am really struggling with splitting nails and dry skin around the nails since COVID and all the hand washing we had to do it really took it out on my nails. One thing I need to ask is how much vitamin E would you use in say 100/150 of Jojoba oil? Looking forward to watching more of your videos.

Ooohhhh I didnt see this before, I saw some other video where you said to use oil after handwashing and for the past 2 weeks I have been using the sally hansen and Essie nail and cuticle oil everyday (like I basically carry it with me lol) and my nails look and feel much better. Now I am going to implement this step, I am so sure that they would look gorgeous by the end of another two weeks. Thank you thank you thank youuuuuuuuuu 💖💖💖

Thank you so much for this video. My nails are so damaged from years of gel and acrylics. I took my gel off about 2 weeks ago and have been applying jojoba oil at least once a day (sometimes up to 3x a day) and leaving the polish off. My nails are looking much better already and feeling stronger. I know water is not great for my nails and wear gloves when dishwashing but they get wet in the shower. Would you recommend wearing polish now to protect them of do you suggest leaving the polish off while they recover? I probably have about another month until the damaged part of my nails is grown out.

Love your advice, my nails have been improving with the gentle pushing of the cuticle, the Kersal and the jojoba oil after washing my hands. My nails have gotten very dry and ridged (post menopausal). Sticking with these routines has helped in a short amount of time! Thank you

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. I missed a couple of things. How long should you soak your nails in heated oil? Can you reuse the oil? Can you soak nails damaged from gel polish, nail fungus, or excessive filing? Thank you very much.

HSN used to sell a product line called TIPS. They claimed that they reduced the size of the oil molecules for superb penetration and ultimately, flexibility. There was more explanation than that, but that was the aim. The rep would actually hit her nails on a wooden board (slightly denting/chipping the wood) to show the strength. I think it had jojoba in it, but she continuously pointed out that flexibility was the important aspect. The product I ordered was polish remover which had the oil in it, and it came with a sample of the oil. Idk if the science was accurate, but it was nice that it didn't chalk out my fingers and cuticles. Ordered couple of times but they eventually stopped selling it. Thank you for sharing. I keep threatening to order Doug's books but for some reason keep dragging my feet. PS-Its nice to see you in front of the camera and your pronunciation is excellent. Now if we could only see MSL 🤔😁🤗

Thank you for this. I developed ridges down my nails about a year ago. I found this video a couple of months ago and gave it a try. The ridges have almost gone on most nails. My thumb nails are still the most obvious and weirdly I seem to have developed a much higher ridge right down the centre of two nails but those are slowly looking better as well.
