Most of the CO2 used to produce dry ice is captured at industrial facilities, like fertilizer plants. These facilities install carbon capture & utilization systems that capture the emissions from their facility and put it through a process to separate the CO2 from other molecules. It is then pressurized and stored as a liquid until it is pumped into a pelletizer which makes dry ice. It can also be sourced from biofuel facilities and ambient air capture technologies, both of which are growing industries.

@@dryiceblaster I'm saying the common source. I saw that the most common method is removing the CO2 from rock via high heat. So that makes sense as how much lime is used.

@@nomore1980 the most common source of CO2 used to make dry ice is through the carbon capture & utilization process. Industrial facilities, like fertilizer plants, can install systems to capture their emissions and put it through a scrubbing process to extract the CO2. It is then pressurized and stored as a liquid, which is then used to convert to dry ice. Alternatively, more and more systems are coming online that actually scrub the ambient air around us and extract the CO2. These are still in the early stages, but are gaining more and more funding for R&D.

​@@dryiceblasterI visited your website and noticed you have several different models available, so it makes sense you don't want to address the cost so openly, but dodging the question outright and forcing people to give personal information just for cost also seems very shady and causes more people than not to stear away. V/R with no disrespect intended.

@@zeusdarkgod7727 we are sorry you feel that way. Unfortunately, there is no "set price" when it comes to dry ice production equipment as it depends on each users unique needs. These require engineering teams to scope out projects for customers. While you can just produce pellets, most of our systems are considered engineered systems in which we add conveyor lines, flow packers, dosing systems, etc. You're welcome to reach out to mktg@coldjet.com if you are interested and we can share a price sheet.
