We honestly designed it exactly how we wanted it, but are feeling pretty guilty now that it is up. It'll be a great home for our family of 6.

Unless a nuclear war happens this view shouldn't change any time soon. Not a lot of reason for people to move to this area. But can't ever eule out wind farms.

I'm an electrician and I have installed hundreds of those wafer led lights in the past two years. 95% of all my homeowners have loved the 3500K setting. However I love 5000K in my kitchen and bathrooms, and I recommend 5000K in closets. With that said it all depends on the preference of the homeowner. I do recommend dimmers in those wafers. We started our house build in November. The contractor put paper on all floor surfaces before sheet rocking. Now time for hardwood flooring, they just roll up the paper and saves on cleanup of mud and debris

He is the sweetest. A very calm and empathetic dog. I am Nick and Scott's sister and now live in Scott's old trailer, and Mav pops over every day to visit me. He is surprisingly calm for a puppy, but boy does he love to RUN! 😄

You guys are very blessed, that's a huge house, i built mine big enough to have room, but not so big that when my children are old and gone that my house isn't to big for the two of us, i already gave half my cars to my boys, now if they moved out I could have my shop back, back from myself, we are very blessed

I worked at Pabco in Las Vegas for 5 years. It's the only drywall plant in the US that mines gypsum from the ground and puts it straight into the production of drywall. Your house is looking amazing, and the harvest videos 📹 around the house will be epic!

Looks great Nick! That hard work will pay off. I did thin coat plaster in my house 24 years ago, held up great. Oh man belt sander on the floor seams! I rented a large disc sander. Planting around the corner on the farm for y’all.

Trim is a lot of fun. I made all of mine and put 3 layers of polyurethane on it, then installed it all.

Hi Nick, In the uk the board you put on the walls we call plasterboard, the use gypsum to make it. What you call Mudding, we call plaster, for finishing the walls, many different types with different ingredients. Depends on the type of interior walls.

I find your choice of colors for your house, shall we say, interesting. LOL! They seem a bit pinkish to me, but I am thinking I must be color blind, or my tastes may be a bit outdated. However, I am interested in seeing how it turns out. I am sure it will look great, and I cannot wait to see. Congratulations to you and your brother on your new homes. The money you saved by DIY has got to be very satisfying. I recently priced paint to do a couple of rooms and was I surprised. Name brands were $75 to $90 per gallon for the highest quality. Imagine hiring out the painting process. With a 30% mark-up by a contractor the paint could be close to $120 a gallon. Once done you're going to be very happy to have done alot of the work yourself.

In our neck of the woods, that type of mudding is call "Lace" finish. Its a cool finish. The more you spray the more lace look you get.

When we built our house we laid out the position of the LED wafer lights on the floor and marked them by putting a pancake head screw in the subfloor, then used a laser level to project the mark on the ceiling for cutout.
