Nice cook bro! Was the skin crispy? I like wet brines but have found the skin a bit moist

Very Crispy. I dried the chicken very well before seasoning. It also sat out for about an hour which helped dry out the skin. Thanks for checking out the video.

@@DavidSmith-vg2bn I have the kettle rotisserie also David. I generally cook a prime rib roast each Xmas holiday on my 22”. I need to do more chickens on it. I love the way the meat bastes in its own juices!! Yummy!

So with an ole hickory smoker, is crispy skin not an option? The fact you can not set them higher than 300 degrees has stopped me from getting one.

Only if you spray with cooking oil will you achieve a crispy skin. 300 degrees just wont cut it. It work very good with cooking spray though. Hope this helps.

I've never put my birds in a brine Was wondering if you know if there is any difference in squeezing the juice from the oranges then throw in the rines and just leaving them cut? Always like a good bird and they look mighty nice!

Not sure. I’ve always quartered them even when brining Turkeys. I have to give it a shot and see if it makes a difference. Thanks for checking out the video.

I wanted a pure charcoal and wood smoker but wish I would have chose the CTO. The gas assist is truly needed for long overnight cooks. Big mistake on my part. I do however love the smoker Puts out awesome results every time.

thanks i use stick burners but thinking about adding this for longer cooks. i been up in the air over the two wondering if tge cto is worth tbe extra money. theres not alot of info out there comparing them. thanks
