It’d be cool if there was an option for the user to choose whether or not other survivors or killers could hear your character talk. And the other people can also choose if they want to hear it or not as well, so if your voice line option is on, other people who have theirs on will also hear it.

You can't hear any other survivors' voicelines in-game, so I'm pretty sure Alan Wake is no different

Should be only for survivors, The voice-lines would expose to killer.

Well, it is. Sam Lake confirmed that this is one of Alan's attempts to escape, one of his old stories he wrote for Night Springs

That's basically it. Alan is not really trapped in the Entity's Realm like the rest of the survivors, each attempt is him trying to write his way out of the Dark Place if he dies, he can just return to the Writer's Room and try again.

@@mr.gamersen Likely Best To Have The Killer Only Hear Some Voice Lines Like When They Get Chased, Picked Up, Hooked, ETC. Since At That Point The Killer Already Knows Where You Are.

Imagine how much more inclined you’d be to help your team if you could thank them in game with voice lines, similar to apex legends. I feel like being able to directly communicate with your teammates through voice lines would make for more memorable matches and actually make you feel like a team :) you’d get to see how unique each survivor is too based on how they interact with the others

Yes true but you have to realize that he was narrating in the trailer where the entity comes for him but after he went in the fog he is no longer in the writers seat. The entity is in control of this place not him.

Probably won't happen, bc it would be way too easy for killers to find survivors. ex: Nic Cage/Alan Wake shouting bloody murder while looking at the killer making them found. would like more killers like chucky have voicelines though

Voice lines have a percentage of be said/appear, sometimes you can even not hear one. Just like Nicolás Cage, Pinhead or Wesker they all have many voice lines and in-game you probably just hear 3-4.

They’re entirely different characters with entirely different personalities? Plus his exclamations and asides are almost exactly the same from Alan Wake 2 when he’s being chased. If Alan was cracking jokes left and right like Nick, I’d be upset.

No way around it. I played through the remaster and he only ever has some mildly playful interactions with Barry, otherwise Alan is a pretty serious guy. Barry even pokes fun at him for it, saying he's the brooding, sulking, mysterious type that all the ladies love. I think that for a character like Wake, his lines being very immersed and focused with maybe a few quips that show his experience is perfect. They could have included some narration lines for sure but otherwise his quips are exactly what they needed to be and with the VA's delivery they are, imo, the best voicelines in the game so far. I can understand why you might think they are generic or not as colourful as Nick but saying it isn't because of his personality is just wrong. Personality dictates character dialogue and I'm sure that BHVR didn't write these lines all by themselves.
