as a wormwood main, i can comfirm i am a plant, and also main provider of food to the 4 other people i play with, but yeah im a plant

the moment i discovered power of his spiky armor was moment when he became my favorite character. you also forgot to mention it will protect you from spike dmg, meaning cactus and spiky bush can be picked up with no dmg, potentially useful in multiplayer as well

As a Wormwood main, there's 1 item I want to mention: Growth formula Growth formula is awesome Get a few bottles and a kelp farm and you can have mostly permanent bloom (each of super growth formula's 5 uses is 4 minutes of bloom). I do this every world I get properly set up in as Wormwood and at this point I'm honestly used to the increased hunger drain, vanilla hunger drain feels slow. Also tree jam as an honorable mention, Wormwood gets 6 total health from glommer goop and adding 2 figs to that turns it into 34 total health over 32 seconds instead. The same can be achieved with rot or compost, but those have to be constantly reapplied, so tree jam still has the benefit of lasting a lot longer.

Really like this style of video purely focused on the more one to one practical approach of a character rather than a purely factual approach to their stats and abilities. The better way to look at a character can come from how they play in hands and how a real person would use them rather than “this stat is higher and negate the downside with this”. I’ll definitely be using wormwood a lot more now that I understand how he actually plays with these stats in mind rather than it just being a numbers game of stats and abilities

Wormwood also has some of the best skins in the game hands down!

Wormwood is so much fun, he is by far the easiest character to go fast as consistently, so much so that my first goal when I join a world as him is to bloom so I can do more, he benefits from the bare basics a lot more than others, and he has by far the most unique/fun gimmicks of any character, bees become a useful asset for defense if worm wood finds a good biome filled with them, and lure plants counter webber in pvp worlds, it’s funny how I bought him to do more farming, but I do way more than that when I play him

Yap I did a 900 day run so far with him starting right before his skill tree and he is incredible I loved him cause he is powerful without being OP they found a perfect balance with him which I always love The brumble armour is insanely powerful especially in bosses like the werepig that fall down when tired The trap is actually insanely good on fuelweaver cuz it resets and so it gets rid of a lot of his woven shadows

Another good note is that because Wormwood with Brightshade Armor can stop even bosses in their tracks... It also allows cheesing for bosses like the Eye of Terror not being able to hit a wanda similar to how you can use Maxwell's Shadow Prisons to cheese the fight

Alright I'll say this made me want to try wormwood out. Might be interesting to shift the game from what I know normally.

I love wormwood cause he gets to win in basically every scenario. Food went bad? free rot! berries about to spoil? make bush! to many of X resource? make plants! going insane? carrots going bad? NEW FRENS!!!! and the carrots get refreshed after the rats die! (i think idk im a scrub who hasn't killed celestial champ but shhhhhhhhhh)

I.. dont know why but ive watched so many wormwood videos yet this is the first one that made me actually want to try him out.. ive 1k hours in this game xd

What i noticed is that Wormwood is one of the few characters that can out speed Beefalo with at least one buff and their main mechanic which i find good, the only reason you would take a beefalo as wormwood is to either get Manure at the front of your base and to move heavy objects

Wormwood monent🎉 The poor sap is better than werepig because the craft is very cheap and fast farm, one poor sap from pig gives 15 manure and is Very good for craft mushrooms planters and compost wrap but are useless skill tree for craft plants, the best skill trees are, the armour every 3 attacks there is spike attack, traps because when is 100% bloom there the reset, poor sap, bee kind because they can add bee box in the base for upgrade farm honey, lunar Guardian LV 2, mushrooms lunar because with skill tree it cans to add lunar mushrooms and use for sleep boss and mob and finally your animals, is best salamander for DPS . For me is very strong and funny when I play first time is very funny and is my favourite character ❤❤❤

wormwood early game is ez, u can earn ur sanity back by replanting the stuff you chop like if u chop a tree just plant the pine cones and u got ur sanity back

He's an interesting character, I just feel he's not that great solo because food is easy to come by when you know what you're doing, but in a group setting he can indeed easily mass produce for other players.

Revisiting this video, i have a few things to say. He has (kinda) alright dps. From my poor math skills i deducted his dps with a dark sword is similiar to Wigfrid with bramble husk specialist. Could be wrong tho Most of his other perks for damage aren't really worth it. Not like there is any besides the Lunar and Bramble trap specialist. Bramble traps for the most part are just a funny cheese but a lot of bosses have mechanics which completely cancel them. The main uses are really annoying creatures like Vargs or Spider Queens, which spam you out with mobs which can usually tank a decent amount of damage rather than directly fight you. And the lunar one only really comes into play in Late-Game(that i never reached due to my skill issue) Bramble husk specialist is a wonderful tool. Aside from the dps, you can stunlock groups of enemies with animation cancelling. It also makes some normally inconvenient fights be extremely easy. Such as tentapillars. His shroom perks don't really come into play. So just don't bother unless you prefer getting Manure via syrups instead of feeding a werepig a bunch of lightbulbs or smth. Maybe do both. Wormwood has incredible control over all his stats, especially in passive gameplay. He can go insane and fully sane at will, Food is plentiful anyways but he can easily manage his Hunger(farming spiders, farming crops). And even his health becomes rather trivial because of him again, being able to farm mobs for stuff like Glands or to make several tents. Including the fact that you very much can stockpile your healing items infinitely and just put random trash in the compost bin for free 8 health. Wormwood is kinda like a glass cannon character even if he doesn't really have the "cannon" part. He is fast enough to avoid damage much easier but if your kiting is off you will be screwed over terribly in some fights. His speed is also so great you can just run away from bosses to heal. All in all, he is just a pretty decent character. He is tailored for taking things slow and be passive but can also do things quickly if he needs to. He isn't too remarkable but that's perfectly fine. All in all, a B tier character and honestly He's kinda ez. -random Wormwood main on the internet.

1:35 I tested beefalo + spiky armor before the rework and I couldn't get it to deal damage when beefalo gets hit. Did this change when they added the skill tree?

its just sad that healing items still use the same slow animation, saladmanders are cool but theyre so dumb honestly. skill tree still doesnt really do anything for me other than the 3 hit -> bramble husk activating on its own, which could work with wigfrids tomato song, and before the skill tree he is kinda just similar. the brightshade skills are locked behind CC and rifts, so it doesnt really help him out much early on, and after aquiring stuff for brightshade stuff i just choose wolfgang/woodie, bc by that point i wouldnt struggle with swarms anymore. and whenever i join servers i always see someone picking walter/wormwood, make it a few days before they die bc of insanity. just kinda sad, tho he is unique the stuff just isnt great on his own

Crafting plants is nowhere as good as using shovel. I don't like that part of skill tree. Those skills are so bad they could be part of his kit by default and replaced by something desirable.
