Today's video is about my modified DT-02 Holiday Buggy and organising a Speed Run Challenge for this year for everyone in our RC community to enter and have some fun.

Awesome upgrades. Alone these Blitzer wheels're looking great on the buggy. I like the speedrun idea, too.

Looks the business with those wheels/tyres Peter! I have never thought of using this wheel set with the Holiday buggy! Damn looks fast too mate! I like what you did with decals too!

Thank You James. Somehow, the yellow wheels & tyres didn't cut the mustard with the extra ooomph from the 9t brushless motor so I opted for these 👍 I shall use these for the grass and the Goliath block tread tyres for the tarmac when it stops raining 😆🤣😝

I like the tan retaining strap on the Jerry can, and your vinyl graphics. Your point about standard spur gears is logical, too. I found out the other day that my dad (and you might not find this hard to believe, having met him) had no idea that 3d printing existed. So, yeah, choice of motor pinion, motor, wheels etc.

Hello Derek, hope you have been keeping well. I think that 3d printing spur gears puts everyone else at a disadvantage so if only the standard spur gear is used, it is fair Game for everyone that enters. I will have an update video coming soon with the rules set out and a decent time frame for the competition to run. I also understand about the weather, prior commitments, holidays to visit Loved ones and so on but all will be revealed soon. Thankyou ever so much for watching Del, it means a lot 👍

Hey Peter, a very nice looking DT-02 for sure. A speed challenge hmmm…. You mention stock spur gear, able to use own power, wheels tyres, body, standard friction shocks? How about a budget cap? brushed / brushless class or is that getting too complicated? I’ve a DT-02 holiday buggy myself, but straight away, brushless boys are going to be way ahead of me, especially those prepared to throw £’s at the challenge. Best wishes my good friend, don’t work too hard.😊😊

Hi Dom, I used the Fluorescent Yellow vinyl so that it wouldn't look the same as everyone else's 😂

Yeah, man, Peter, that's cool! I'm looking forward to see what you can clock with that cool Holiday Buggy when you get the GPS meter, at least that lovely neon yellow gotta give you a couple mph extra! I would love to join in, what's the deadline? I think I have a spare DT-02 chassis, and certainly plenty DT-03 parts to stick something together, he he, probably not something that'll win any competitions, but fun is what we have!

Been poking around after Mark mentioned your speed run competition, I'm definitely gonna have to slap the Blitzer wheels on my Viper, might help me keep the front wheels on the ground lol. I actually wound up fitting a Blitzer body to my DT-02 just so I have enough room to strap a phone in for a speedo cause I don't have one of those SkyRC dealies myself. Same phone I hucked out of the Blitzer a few years ago going around 45km/h. My Sand Viper is a beat up second hand pickup that I've done some extensive modifications to; new body, brushless system, aluminium shocks, adjustable struts and a big ole' LiPo, still running the original gears from 2006 though haha. The latest video on my channel is me running some tests after gluing my front shock tower back together, which I regrettably flipped and broke again after recording, but we're glued back up and ready to record a few runs later this week. Looking forward to see where I land on the leader board!

Hello, Welcome Aboard to have some fun. I found the hardest task with the DT-02 was keeping the front wheels on the floor when fitting a brushless motor. And I also need to invest in a cameraman but there aren't that many available for free so I might just invest in a tripod 😝😆😄 I've also got some higher kv motors to fit and test out so it looks like I will definitely be needing a wheelie bar of some sort to be fitted to the chassis 👍

@@cw-01creations46 I use my little brother for a camera operator, he's starting to get the hang of it lol. I found that Mechano plates have just the right spacing to be attached on the back of the chassis where the transmission screws on, it's done a fantastic job of saving that rear screw from any further grinding, and if you're lucky you get some sparks while doing wheelies. Right now the car is outfitted with a refurbished 4300kv motor and I managed to shove a 3S in there by grinding away a bit of the rear shock tower's base and removing the screw posts for the battery hold down. Frankly I'm amazed at the abuse those gears will take considering the car shipped with a 27 turn brushed motor. I haven't been able to pull the trigger on my remote all the way yet, not enough flat road. Weather permitting I might try and find a spot later today.

Count me in bud Just got a Desert Gator up for the task. tWO questions Bearings? I missed rules on that I am getting mine runing tonight so if no bearing I wont put em in.. And Shocks? Friction only? Should be fun..

I've got a video planned for this weekend outlining the rules. You can run whatever you choose but standard spur gear only. Mine has bearings and runs brushless and I'm only running friction shocks as I don't have any oil-filled shocks 👍

Good evening Peter! Cool holiday buggy dude, looks like a lot of fun to drive, and fast at that! So, I've never built or driven any of the DT series of chassis..... but I know all of the usual suspects rate this platform very highly indeed. I was a bit disappointed when I first watched this video as we do not own one of these..... but a little dicky bird tells me this may be changing soon! 😉 (actually, Taylor is more like big bird than dicky bird!! 😂) I need to drop you an email tomorrow night mate..... Anyway, it looks as if the Greenies will be joining in the fun and frolics now..... what could possibly go wrong eh?!!! 😂 And judging by reading the comments, we will be up against some worthy contenders! Works been frantically busy over the last few weeks, but will drop you a mail tomorrow night after work to finalise a date mate. 😊 👍 👍 👍

Hello there, my wonderful Ray of sunshine 😝 I'm holding this speed competition to help celebrate another milestone of reaching the 200+ subscriber count. Most people do a giveaway but I'm doing a competition which will involve a giveaway prize at the end 👍 I've got a few ends to tie up and then will be releasing a video outlining the rules of the competition and wotnot. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone who enters and modifying my own DT-02 in the process. I'm also looking forward to finally catching up with you lot and checking out your rides...... I will check my mail tomorrow and go from there 👍 Good Luck in the competition 🤘

And, what a great way to celebrate, and bring the community together for some friendly competition, and no doubt a few laughs!
