Wow! I'm a web developer but I'm doing a video project for daughter for school. I've been watching videos all weekend long and you're the on the only person that broke it down so simplistically precise that I was able to jump right in and get it done. Thanks!!!

Thank you so VERY much. I'm just getting started with producing multi cam videos for my church and your relaxed, detailed, casual pace, (along with a clean American accent) is exactly what I needed. Now I can move forward into this new dimension. My final comment is to ask that next time you play Clapton's "Bell Bottom Blues" or "I Can't Stand It." Hee, hee.

Don't rush to the point as some have suggested. I have your DVD set and it is great. How many have ever watched a tutorial and in rushing you never saw what it was that was done and you can't seem to find why you can't get it to work. Those that want you to rush it, I guess should be able to figure this out by themselves! Thanks!

Man I can not thank you enough. Glad I found you. Learning how to use the multi camera tool just took my editing to a whole nother dimension. Took me a few go arounds with the nesting/sequencing part but I got it. You have a new subscriber. Thanks again brother.

Thanks for the great video tutorial. I didn't know about alt clicking to unlink audio and video channels to delete one or the other. I use to right click and select "unlink" first. Your way saves me a step. Also you don't have to make two copies of the audio in the multi-cam sequence. Premiere by default only plays back the audio in audio track 1. Just don't click "audio follows video" in the multi-cam window and you won't have to make two copies of the audio. Thx again for the tutorial.

ok nice one cheers for that, i think on the project settings ive worked out a way to do it too, ive set the audio as a default of mono as stereo now, so i think even with 2 mono sources recoded on the footage from my camera (JVC GY-HM700) it will double them both up to stereo but only show 1 stereo track on the timeline, but thanks for making me realise the other way exists!!

When you have the tracks on the timeline you can overlay them and resize the track in the program monitor to create the inset effect. That's what I'd do.

You can sync to something else that happens on your video, like a hand movement. Also, you can align the two videos over each other in a sequence, and enable both video's audio to play together. An echo will be heard when slightly out of sync. The echo will dissapear when the two cameras are in sync. It's not that difficult.

Yes, before you place a video clip into a sequence you can right-click the video clip and modify the audio assignments. Good luck in your project.

Get your sound right with the 4 mono tracks and export out only the audio. Bring that audio back into Premiere Pro. It is now a stereo mix. Drop that stereo mix onto both audio tracks. It's like what I did in the video (watch at around 9:49 in my video). So the bottom line is you need to get that 4 mono stuff converted into a stereo file with Export>>Media and choose Windows Wave or whatever it is called.

i have a question, i filmed with 2 cameras and have my sequence as stereo as mono so i can manually downmix the mono into stereo and level each audio track out, thing is when i want to multicam edit with the 4 mono doubled up tracks it chooses only 1 audio channel where i want it to choose all of them, how can i change this?

Quick question: My multiple video's are not showing up in the multi camera monitor window. It's just a black screen. If I make fictitious selections for "cam 1", then "cam 2", etc., and go back to the main workspace, the rough cuts are made, but I am making these "blind". Is there a reason my multi cam video's are not showing up in multi cam monitor? BTW, terrific video tutorial!

@Project4HipHop You need some sort of video mixer to take two live streams and combine them. I haven't done any of that, but perhaps you can google "video mixer" or something and read up on it.

rule numero uno:Never Delete the Audio from any clip. You never know when you'll want to change your audio style. Here's a tip: Instead of multi tracking only the video, do it with the audio. How? When you nest the sequence, make sure all the tracks are on, video and audio. After the nest, OPT+RIGHTCLICK on either video or audio, select multitrack. Do the same with the other (audio or video). If you want to move between audio by following video, you need to Dupelicate the audio track for each audio track you have in the multi cam sync sequence, and then have the audio move with the video. IF you want to cam the audio yourself, you can do that as well by selecting the audio track# where you want it to change over. It gets even more useful if you want to add effects, but don't want to sacrifice your original audio. Simply pour your effect and your audio into a sub-mix in your main sync sequence. When this happens in more than one place or with different audio tracks, you may end up with more subs, but it's just as well, since you can have a submix for each audio track that allows you to effect it, and then only multi cam the submix audio tracks (duplicate the audio track enough times to account for sub mixes, then for each dupe in the nest sequence, use the multi cam selector to choose a different mix track; note_ This is highly important, you must have a Video track for every audio track or submix, and the track number of video will match a track number of audio and the multitrack will work fine). By doing this, you can chose your audio and effects set based on the needs of your output. But never, I repeat, never, remove the audio. IT IS NOT EXTRANEOUS. It is only a link really, just xml text data. When you use it, it will get rendered. That way, you'll have every piece ready in case the CLIENT or person paying you for your work decides they want to see a change. Never alter the work you've already done either, just duplicate whatever you need to, and make the changes. Clips and audio are all linked, not copied by file, but linked to a file location, and played on the fly. Other than that, yeah, great tutorial. The sync thing was interesting... ...both an audio and video based cue there... ...very useful indeed. This is difficult if your cameras are looking opposite directions and neither can see you, and the room is large enough that they can't hear you without a microphone firing off a noise through giant speakers that really aren't that great. For this, you will need CC or the special plug plural eyes.
