i'm a BIG advocate for portable monitors, they'll probably always be my favourite monitor layouts. so today we're unboxing and setting up a new one to try out by ARZOPA! this one is 144hz with great colour and a sharp picture. this will probably be my new main mini monitor since the bezels are so thin and it looks great overall.
would you use something like this or do you prefer larger monitors?

Just got mine today as my third monitor in my setup and it is exactly as you described! Perfect size and resolution, very bright and slightly yellowish (but that's easily fixable) You made me want a little portable monitor since I first discovered you tbh. So thank you!

Nice setup. I had a similar layout, but liked the arzopa monitor so much, I bought a second and have them side by side under my main monitor.

I just got an ultrawide but I already miss having a second monitor from my old setup. This seems like the perfect solution for me! I just need one thats 2K with 144hz.

tbh the 60hz model isnt really worth the price at 100 bucks id much rather just pay a bit more for the 144hz model

I love ultra wide monitors but Ive stayed away from them just cause i like to have 2 screens for multitasking. do you find that the portable monitor gives you "the best of both worlds" when it comes to the whole ultra wide V double monitor set ups? You make everything look so nice without being too cluttered

i totally get it, but absolutely! i think another full size takes up way too much space and is just a bit unnecessary. a portable monitor + ultra is the perfect substitute. i can do all of my multitasking cus it's just big enough and everything's still super legible since it's close to you. i used to use this same setup with my full-time job and it was perfect. i'd either use it for my outlook inbox or if i needed to reference a document while i worked on another, it was the perfect size, then i could just flip the orientation. i'm a huge multi-tasker, but this also allows your desk to be a bit less cluttered since it's smaller!

Year or two ago, I got a 13.3 portable monitor after see your videos using a 15inch,. I didn't like how high your monitor compared compared to where I usually set my monitor to. I gotta say i was totally wrong and if I could go back I would absolutely get a 15inch monitor. I feel the 13 is absolutely not usable as a 2nd monitor with a 34inch and by all means, this 144hz 15inch is def the one to get!!!

oh noo! 15" really is the perfect size. I'll never get a 13" laptop for this exact reason. you really gotta try it out for yourself to see what the hypes all about for sure!

im not sure if you mean the wallpapers or the like ui of windows. for the wallpapers its wallpaper engine and for the ui it could be rainmeter with some combinations of macos skins (like the dock and bar) tho im just guessing

You are honestly so inspiring. I am going to definitely get a portable monitor today but I had a tiny question before purchasing: since you have both a 4K portable monitor at 60hz and this one that is 1080P at 144hz, which one would you recommend getting? I’m leaning towards this one since my main monitor is 4K HDR anyway, but wondered if I would end up noticing a difference in the display quality. Thank you for sharing your experiences with these neat products 🙏🏽

thank you! if you get a high quality 1080p like this one you can't tell the difference cus the size is small. you can really tell the pixels if the monitor is like 27"+ so this would be perfect. the high refresh rate makes it feel even smoother too!

Would this be a good option for a smaller space set up, I want a second monitor but unfortunately a full size doesn’t look possible, I mainly want a 2nd screen for viewing videos while I complete my main tasks

yes absolutely! that’s why i prefer it. it’s also great cus videos fill out the ratio perfectly rather than a vertical. this is my favourite monitor layout ever and i think i’ll always go back to it. highly highly recommend trying it out

I dont know what I am doing wrong but cannot for the life of me figure out why it will not connect to my desktop!! I am using a dell and have one monitor already hooked up and can't get this portable one to hook it. It works if I plug it into my phone with the usb c - I emailed tech support and nothing yet. :( Anyone have any suggestions or tips? Thank YOU!

are you plugging it directly into the hdmi port in your gpu? i think most come with like 2 hdmi and 2 display ports

I have a dell optiplex 3080 micro, my work computer, and i have tried every configuration I could think of but I wouldn't doubt I am doing something wrong lol i have tried usb-c from portable monitor to usb to front (also tried back usb) ports of tower (considered the power source i guess), with also the portable monitor plugged into the main monitor via usb to vga. i've tried only one of those at a time, both at a time, plugging it into a wall outlet, etc. no clue what i am doing wrong lol

@sic1lianqt are you using the cables and power brick it came with? the power cord has to be strong enough to support data transfer, not just charging. i get so many comments from even my old videos where i used different portable monitors that they can’t figure out how to set it up so it’s not just you. i had the same issue too when i used my first one but trying every combo and trying different cables & power bricks, layouts plugged into my gpu finally worked for me

@@astronuggie Thank you! It did not come with a power brick actually. I have the S1table model, and it does say it needs a strong enough power source, so that is why I kept trying to plug it in all different ways for enough juice. I know it has the juice because it turns on, but keeps going into power save mode, no matter what i do. I'll keep trying thank you so much!!

@sic1lianqt ah ok find a decently strong little usb c data power brick and have that plug into the usb c power port on the monitor, then an hdmi to hdmi that will go into your gpu/laptop! good luck!

portable monitors can be confusing to hook up - are you plugging the hdmi cable directly into your gpu? and is the power cord connected to a wall brick?
