Bad lighting gives away the secret. At 0.56 you can see the slot in the platform where the support is slid out. That slot is meant to look like just a black pattern on the platform, but the lighting and camera work has exposed it.

I've been watching this trick tonight, many different performances..... and this one gave the secret away. What a masterpiece of an illusion, done by a 'sloppy' magician.

@regrangihuna7319 ... it catches at the same place twice...and it's angled to force the ring through on the second 'run'. I surmise the ring has a 'trap door'. the thing with some of the best illusions is the engineering is absolutely incredible. The original trick, cost a fortune to make......
