Global warming has resulted in “extraordinarily” warm water in the seas around Dubai, where there is also very warm air above, said Mark Howden, director at The Australian National University’s Institute for Climate, Energy and Disaster Solutions. “This increases both potential evaporation rates and the capacity of the atmosphere to hold that water, allowing bigger dumps of rainfall such as what we have just seen in Dubai.”

Speaking of hail...... we just had a hail storm a couple of hours ago in Texas. We couldn't pull our cars into the garage so hopefully they aren't damaged. The hail ranged in size from pea sized to about 2-3" in diameter.

I watched them spray Wednesday in mandurah, western Australia.. Thursday we get severe thunderstorm warning ⚠️ and heavy rain warning ⚠️ had some thunder that shook the whole house and then once it had passed over, I went out and had a look see.. There was flashes of light, like a flickering light amongst the clouds. It looked different to how lightning lights up the sky. Plus, it was quite close yet made no noise at all. When all the other lighting definitely made a good crack and a rumble that lasted a good solid 15 to 20 seconds long.. even my dogs were uneasy and they're not bothered by storms usually.. I got the flashing on video. At the end of the video, while watching the clouds to the right of the screen, I seen a 💀 looking cloud formation appear and it looks like it's screaming. I took a few screen shots and sent to a couple of mates and family asking if they see the 💀 ?? They all said yes.. I'll upload it to my KZfaq videos. I can clearly see its 2 eyes and an open screaming mouth. I know it's not real. But while outside just looking at the sky, it's weird to see flashing lights and a 💀 screaming at me. I take offence to that!👀 😶‍🌫️💀💭👽💨🖖🤌🤌

It looks completely normal. If you’re familiar with thunderstorms you’d know when they’re far enough away (ie, you’re just watching lightning in the clouds) it won’t make a sound.

And no sound with the flashes but sound with the lightning strikes. Maybe you're right. But with how they're modifying everything these days, how can anything seem normal.

We don't get much rain in the UK (at least in London and the Southeast), there's a lot of rainy days but in total it doesn't amount to much. London gets less rain in total than some West Asian cities and roughly 4x less than countries like Japan

It doesn't take much to alter weather around big cities. For decades scientists have known the cities create weather patterns with the heat that comes off their streets and that is what causes rain in the suburbs on weekends. So, adding a push her, some artificial pressure there, and you can turn those weather patterns back onto the city. Personally, I think it would be handy with some of the cities to help clean their streets. But, it's harder to control around large bodies of water, like oceans and large lakes.

Happened when I was in the middle east desert one time. It got so dark that it was like night time. And the rain was mixing with the dust and making mud hail. So much rain that it was life threatening. And sporadic lightning and thunder. It's no joke.

The flooding and clogging of drains seems due to the normal lack of rain and the structural lack of preparation for it. It would seem cloud seeding triggered a cascading effect of cooling that expanded nicely to suck all the moisture out of the hot air. Do that more often and the oasis there may start expanding and the desert start reforming back into a rainforest.

Something like this happened while I was there. I was working for an automobile dealer service center in Deira Dubai. And suddenly at around 3pm the sky became pitch dark in fact the whole of Dubai. became black. Then there was a massive storm and there was hail as big as golf balls. It was really scary as I came across something like this for the first time. I was there from 1993 to 2016. This happened around 2001. If I'm not mistaken..

They got 5.59 inches in 24 hours. When Auckland had its record rainfall and MASSIVE flooding recently, we got 9.6 inches in 24 hours. And WE had had two weeks of constant heavy rain before that, and had three weeks of heavy rain AFTERWARDS.

We just got 5” Friday 5” Saturday and 7” last night here in northern Ontario Canada, no flooding thankfully, just pooling in a lot of places where it’s lower elevation

The problem is with all the buildings. When rain hits the dry sand it compacts causing severe erosion in minutes. With enough rain it could potentially cause some buildings to become unsound or uninhabitable. Dubai can afford it though, I'm sure.
