But I, like many other westerners am willing to turn a blind eye and ignore it as long as we can enjoy the tanning beaches, skyscrapers. Basil J Actually they use to dive deep in sea to collect pearls or corals. Many use to die because there were no equipment, they would just hold their breath for 3min.. They use to earn hardly $6 to $7 anually. So yeah they have been through great difficulties.

Uncle Chuckles I'm not a fan of extremely hot weather either.The best time to go to Dubai is between November and April when it's around 25 degrees celcius or lower.However I went twice in May and even though it was 36 degrees you simply don't feel it there ( unless you're on the beach ) because everywhere is so well-conditioned (even the bus stops ! )that you actually need a jacket.As for what is there to do there, it would be easier to point out what you cannot find or do there.There is no casinos so you can't gamble, you can find alcohol in bars and hotels and nightclubs but you cannot drink in the street, you should not indulge in pdas in public or fight or disrespect people.On the plus side you find fantastic hotels, architecture, restaurants, beaches, shopping, water parks, movie theatres, special events, concerts by famous artists, galleries and even an opera.There is every sport imaginable to indulge in even some you probably didn't even know about. You can fly in a helicopter, seaplane or hot air balloon, dine in the desert under the stars , go dune-bashing.Go to the top of Burj Khalifa, watch the amazing fountains, I really could go on and on.As you may have realized I adore the place but I believe 90% of people who visit love it !
