It’s surprising how many little side streets there are around that area You would have enjoyed PowersCourt centre as great variety of shops & unusual little gems there Very enjoyable watch x👍👍

I did the Ryanair cheapo last November, with RIU bonus points in the Gresham O’ Connell Street for affordable ( as Kevin would say) hotel and good scoff, music, and dancing in Murray’s ( where else?) next door.

It was not mentioned but Davy byrne's was made famous in James Joyce's book, 'Ulysses', when the main character Leopold Bloom stopped off there in 1904 to have a gorgonzola cheese sandwich and a glass of burgundy. Like Davy Byrne', The bailey pub on the other side of street was also said to be visited on occasions by Joyce and other famous Dublin literary figures.

Lots to eat and drink in Dublin (but expensive) no question, But nothing to see, really. After Independence from the UK the authorities embarked on a year zero policy in regards to Dublin`s history when we were members of the UK, Our history was largely cancelled pre 1920`s, Pol pot stuff, Appalling..

Flanagan’s on O’Connell St-my favourite restaurant. Very affordable! I wouldn’t be caught dead in any of those expensive, pretentious, up their own backside places and nor would most Dubliners! We have to make allowances for the brain dead wannabes!
