I was born and raised in Leitrim, and the highlight of the year was when my late mother sent me to Dublin on a 3 week visit to her sister. My favourite memory is the sights, sounds, and smells of Moore St. I simply loved it!

I bet your mother told you, the best thing about Leitrim is the road to Dublin!

Remember much of this from student days in the 60s ...a great old town ! Never danced in Cleary's but did in the Metropole to Richie Burbage!

Dublin is the best city in the world and nobody can ever take the place of genuine Dubliners, many have tried and failed miserably. Dubliners are the glue that holds this great city of ours together long may we reign in peace and harmony together.

@1:09 - that's the 1980's after the ILAC centre was opened.... Pre-ILAC, there were beautiful old Georgian buildings there....

Some of those scenes are a lot earlier than 1962. The picture of Blacrock at 1.33 looks like it was taken in the 1920's

@nanglemick thanks be to f**k for that. I was a baby in '62 and, despite being and feeling 50, I thought horses and traps were long gone by then but the Dubliners are still going - lol

1962 just refers to the title of the song, the photos date back to 1920's and earlier. Like the photo of the 'boiler truck' used by the brits during our little disagreement with them back then....
