i had the album version of this played at my mothers funeral a couple months ago. My father and i heard it eating out after planning her funeral and he said, play this. Definitely a grossly underrated gem in Ms. Ciccone's substantial catalog. What I found really amazing about this mix is how it starts with sparse elements that initially had me concerned; I've always loved that heartbeat synth and though you built it up layer after layer, it intially sounded like a cheap approximation of the song, rather like a bad karaoke instrumental. But as I sat listening to you build it up element by element, I was absolutely floored right around the 1:54 timestamp when it all finally came together. Seriously fascinating work. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
