This is not the most exciting Dragon video out there nor my most spirited ride ever, but it's the most exhilarating ride I've ever had...my first time riding The Dragon's Tail :-).
This video is has minimal editing to eliminate pauses or very slow traffic, but included all my scary moments....a learning tool for me and you maybe. MY RIDING IMPROVES MIDWAY THREW THE VID :-)...and the ride gets better each time. Unfortunately I only had time to ride it once, but I vow to return and ride her again :-). Like, Subscribe and Share.
I expect some to comment and bash some of my gear changing choices, but watching vids can not truly prepare you to ride this infamous piece of asphalt and it's twists, elevation changes and eye opening cliffs !!. I'm riding a V Twin so I had to experiment with different gears and speed to find the bikes sweet spot....anyway, enjoy :-).

Nothing beats the sound of a duck! I went my first time on a 97 TL1000S and had a blast. A twin is def the right tool for that road. Not bad for your first time. 👍

Wouldnt say owned as well. I believe only a few brave locals with gigantic brass BALLZ can say that. TOTD is no joke. Good ride mate.

I didn't blaze through the dragon fast either on my first trip. As a matter of fact, a grom was all over my rear. Lucky for you, there wasn't much traffic. I went on a Saturday and the traffic really detracted from the experience.

I'm surprised there were no state troopers that day shooting radar. Must have been an off day for them for that section.

Nice video and I'm sure that's a fun bike to ride. If you are willing to accept any riding suggestions, I would recommend trying to delay your turn in point when entering a curve. I noticed a tendency to initiate the turn too quickly which causes you to cut the turn short at the apex and drives you wide on exit. Delay the corner entry point a little an see what that does for your cornering. It's a little unnatural at first so start at lower speeds and work up to it. When you get comfortable with this riding technique, you'll be smoother through the entire corner. Speeds and lean angles will steadily increase without anxiety. It should also be noted, this technique will give you the best opportunity to survive a decreasing radius turn should you happen to find yourself in one a little hot.

Very nice ride. All I can say is to delay your turn-in, and then you'll be whizzing through the dragon like it's nobody's business. When you turn-in too early, it slams you out to the other lane. Ask me how I learned this? Luckily, it was on the track in my old 911. And personally, I think you did a lot better than I could have on my first Dragon run. I applaud your maturity.

You were quite tense, for sure. I've never ridden it but it looked like there was quite a downhill grade in the beginning... There's nothing like that where I live.

Yes, I had to restrain myself from trying lol....gotta get to know the turns a little better first, they're all different huh. Too back, because I was there at the perfect time with very little traffic. I was being very cautious tho, since I was riding solo.

Like few people said already, your entry into the corners is not good. Cutting corner to short... And way off from hitting apex in the turn... Otherwise very nice video and great bike...
