A ride and review of the 2022 Ducati Hypermotard 950 RVE Edition. This motorbike is a pure hooligan machine! Falling in between the Hypermotard 950 and the Hypermotard 950 SP edition, the RVE is the sweet spot.
A motorcycle designed to be pure fun and fast, it does not let down. Eager to go fast at every corner and with an aggressive riding position, this bike turned me into a hooligan.
With a full Termignoni exhaust system with the baffles out, this is the funnest motorcycle I have ever ridden, and is a machine to bring the hooligan out in you. With pops and bangs from the exhaust and its out there paint scheme, it is great fun.

Just clicked up 5000km on my 2020 SP, it's a ball to ride. The cornering behaviour you mentioned disappears once the suspension is set up for your weight. I reckon the fuelling is a bit lean under 5k RPM, but no shortage of usable torque, that said, the party happens from 6 to 9. It's an extremely capable motorcycle with a huge fun factor

👌 some nice mileage you have put on yours. Ok yup that makes sense with the suspension mid corner, it wasn't bad but could do with a bit of adjustment. Mega fun bike, funnest I have ever ridden!! Wouldn't mind one myself one day. Cheers

For it town/city yes I would say it would be! Would make the commute considerably more fun haha! Maybe not the most practical for luggage etc... but very nimble and great for filtering 👍

Did you try it with wheelie control off? You change up quite quickly, did you also see what it was like pushing the rev range in 2nd/3rd? It has a soft limiter on it I believe which is engaged at idle and when clutch is in.

No I didn't turn wheelie control off! Played it safe with keeping front wheel on the tarmac haha. Yup revved it out and it does pull very nicely at top end 👍 Didn't want to loose my license by filming it though! Awesome fun bike.

Oh man, I absolutely ADORE this machine. No, it's NOT a proper sumo, it's more like a mental naked bike on stilts that will turn you into a complete hooligan. I'm all for practical motorcycles that you can live on a daily, but bikes should also be about fun and passion; this has that in spades. Looks gorgeous to me as well!

Hi, great review seeing as you were expecting a different bike. One question, is that your own handlebar bag or was it on the bike. If it's yours can you tell me who makes it as I've been looking for something similar to carry phone, keys , wallet etc, thanks

👍 just ordered a 2022 SP. Got a 22 Panigale v4 that isn’t as much fun to ride on the road as this. BTW, it’s pronounced ‘Termioni’ silent G 😂

Definitely a hooligan bike. Have you ridden a KTM 890 Duke R? This comes to mind as a competitor.

😂 don't know if it gets anymore Hooligan than this!! I was surprised how capable and quality it was as well, a very good motorcycle, and just crazy fun!! I haven't yet, I rode the KTM Duke 790 a while back and really enjoyed it. I think the 890 might be a sweet spot in the range 👌

Haha I can completely understand that! It is a shame but that is what puts me off the super bikes. Just too much fun and will lose license 🥴 The Hypermotard is a great option, so much fun and still fast. Cheers

I bought the ‘21 base Hyper 950 & a buddy in other side of town paid a $4000 premium for the RVE edition and has to wait 60 to 90 days before the dealer will have it in stock. How or why Duc dealers in Europe are lending out RVE models to quasi moto journalists is baffling.

😂 I completely understand! To be honest I could have never imagined myself riding and liking one of these, but wow, it is extremely fun. Haha as you say it is not the most discreet/elegant motorbike, but it makes up for it in sheer excitement points.

Fairly certain the RVE doesn't sit between the standard and SP models - as its just a standard bike with flashy paint job.

I think someone with that logic and a brain would buy the standard, all red Hypermotard 950 and just add the quickshifter for 200£ something and save those thousands of pounds that was mentioned in this video. But in reality the Hypermotard 950 RVE is only 1000£ more expensive than the standard 950, so if you like the different colour/graphics more than saving 800£ it could be worth it.
