Video clip of my 2011 Ducati Monster 796 with Arrow Dark Aluminum slip-ons with carbon fiber end-caps.
This was a cold start (temp was approximately 10 degrees celcius) and the bike was not started for 24 hours prior. Even when cold, RPM at idle stayed in the range of the original OEM exhaust without having the ECU remapped or changed in anyway.

There is no exhaust sound like a twin cylinder motorcycle and a Ducati is one of the best for exhaust note.

I haven't had any issues with the police so far and honestly I think they have louder bikes and cars to deal with. The Arrow pipes don't come with a filter or ECU and they run perfectly with the stock intake and ECU settings (if maybe a little lean). You will definitely love your bike, especially with a decent set of pipes! Cheers!

The materials have held-up and look just as they did when I received them new. Initially, I suspected that some vibration/rattling might develop where the carbon end-caps meet the steel/aluminum pipe body, but nothing has changed - the sound is still deep and solid. I have run them with the dB killers out all season, and made zero changes to the ECU or air filter. I installed the dB killers for a 1-day course I attended in June, and although throttle response was smoother, the sound was lost.

I'm getting ready to buy a 2013 Ducati Monster 796 and it's completely stock. I have been searching for an exhaust to put on it and I have definitely found the one. Thank you! That is by far the best sounding and looking exhaust I have found! The one I'm getting is the same exact color scheme too! Beautiful!

Thanks! It definitely sounds great. As far as the mirrors are concerned, they are the 75mm Streetfighter bar end mirrors from Oberon Performance. Brilliant build quality and finish at a very reasonable price. Cheers!

That's exactly right. I picked this system up from Motivation, and at the time, they were the only shop that carried the set with carbon end-caps. If you do end up ordering from them, have them look in the box to make sure both exhaust springs are present, as mine was missing one and I have yet to receive it. Its not a deal breaker though, as you can use the stock springs without issue.

You don't have to re-map the ECU with these and you will still get a 1-2 hp increase with smoother throttle response. However, it does run a little lean so it would be a bonus to have the re-map done, as it would provide optimal fuel settings and power increases. With that being said, I left my ECU stock with no re-map done and the stock air intake.

Congrats on the purchase! They are great pipes. You are correct about the rubber gasket being too long. I trimmed mine down so that the ends just met when the rubber was mounted in the exhaust mounting straps. Good luck and enjoy those pipes!

@NinjaDog578 The back paint on the 796 is actually a satin finish and not a true matte like the 696. I use a general purpose cleaner/polish by Ipone called Clean R Polish which brings out the gloss. Other than that, but when I do a proper clean, I usually finish off with a coat of the AutoGlym Super Resin Polish. As for the pipes, I ordered them from the US and with shipping to Canada and duty/brokerage they were just over $800 CAD.

At the time I purchased the Arrow pipes for my bike there were no Yoshimura options available. I compared Competition Werkes, MIVV, Termignoni, and Leo Vince before deciding to buy the Arrow set. I have had no regrets with the purchase. Good luck!

MrCanuckster do you think this one have deeper tone than termignoni? Im trying to get a full system for my 2010 multistrada 1200 but they are too expensive, I've seen arrow has the cheapest ones but my bike has an exhaust valve after the cathalityc converter :( so if I want it loud I need a Full Exhaust Sysyem, And If I install it, I need the maping but I'm trying to find the clue if the ducati dds map key for termignoni might be good for It

I would love to take credit for the gauges, but that is the factory equipment. All newer (2009-present) Monsters come equipped with the same pod.

Fair enough. To be honest, I was originally looking at a Termi setup but found that a) the ones for the Monster are not great looking and b) the build quality is not what it used to be. Apparently, Termi has been having de-lamination issues with their carbon fibre and without the Ducati Performance ecu, the bike will run horribly. So far, I have been VERY impressed with the Arrow pipes, even with the stock ecu.

At the time I purchased the pipes, the only place I could find them with the carbon end-caps was Motovation USA. With that being said, there may be other online and brick-and-mortar retail shops that offer them now. Good luck with your search!

Thanks! It is a great bike made even greater with a few simple modifications. I actually traded this bike in so I no longer have it. With that being said, I ran the bike all last year and into this spring with the stock ecu and map with zero issues. Sounded great and ran just as well!

I totally understand what you're saying, and it is something I found frustrating when I was looking for a set of pipes. Unfortunately, unless the bike is under load, the sound will still not be a proper representation, even at high rpm. This means that without riding the bike and recording it while doing so, you will never get to hear the awesome sound of engine-braking, etc. Plus, when you record while riding, you get interference from wind, vibration, and general background noise.

Thanks! It is a great bike made even greater with a few simple modifications. As far as your fit for the bike is concerned, I am 5'11' and it fit perfectly but is definitely a more compact machine. At 6'4", I would probably suggest the Monster 1100 for its slightly higher seat height, although there are aftermarket seat options for the Monster line-up.

I bought these particular Arrows pipes from Motivation USA. At the time, a little over a year ago, they were the only shop that sold them with the carbon fibre end-caps. With that being said, this set-up is also available with brushed stainless end-caps at a dozen or more other shops. Let me know if you have any more questions. Cheers!

Actually, none of the monster line-up are monoposto, although there is a single seat accessory available. Instead, the Monster comes with a removable cowl to cover the passenger seat when not in use - hence, the monoposto look.

Are these slip on's easy installed, or do you have to do something extra to the engine as well? I know Termi's come with everything you need. Sorry I'm mechanically challenged. Cheers.
@MrCanuckster
@MrCanuckster 9 жыл бұрын
Marty Flanagan These are very easy to install, as are most slip-on systems. While you don't need to do any additional engine work, you can have the computer re-mapped to get the most out of the new exhaust. I didn't have mine re-mapped and it ran perfectly, but if I had, I would have made a couple more horsepower and lb/ft of torque gains. The Termi system comes with a re-mapped computer and new air filter. Without these, the system runs really rough. It comes down to the system being installed. Either way, you will love what a new exhaust does to the Monster. Enjoy!

I used the Competition Werkes kit, but I decided to leave it in its natural, brushed stainless steel state. I used the Competition Werkes kit. When I was deciding on a tail tidy kit, although I really liked R&G and others, the CW kit seemed to provide the best coverage of the under-seat components (i.e. wiring, flapper valve motor, etc...). It comes in natural brushed stainless steel though, so depending on the direction you are going with the mods on your bike, you may decide to give it a coat of paint. Thanks for the question!
