Ducati Panigale V4 Speciale Fuel Tank Removal

What's up YT. I recorded this quick how-to video a while ago where it was originally posted on my Patreon page. However, I've decided to repost it here as I don't do anything with Patreon anymore. Today we're removing the fuel tank on my Ducati Panigale V4 Speciale. I briefly covered this in my Ducati Panigale v4 Stripped video here (studio.kzfaq.infol1RO.... This process will be the same for any Ducati V4 Panigale regardless of year (as of 09-2022). Anyway, I hope this was helpful!!

What's your thought's on the fueling on the speciale?

From the factory, it's not good, but I've experienced worse. However, that's all Ducati's, Aprilia's, and MV's. Or at least the bikes I've ridden and owned. They all need tunning and refinement. My Speciale is much better after the Brentuning flash. I wish I could say the same for my S1000RR. That Bren tunning flash wasn't right. Not sure why, but it wasn't right.

when you removed the tank In this video how much fuel was in the tank? Do you have to drain the tank? Please advise

The tank should have as little fuel in it as possible simply because an empty or near-empty tank is easier to remove than a full tank. However, a tank does not need to be empty when removing it. All modern motorcycle tanks have a one-way valve that is closed when you disconnect the fuel line.

I have a 21 v4sp and always learning more about it. Next question is after removing the plastic covers over the rear head is the heat even worse or no big deal, I’ve never really been bothered by the heat, without the covers I’m assuming it cools the head better and looks way cooler too to be able to see the heads

I do have the full exhaust which I believe helps it to run easier and cooler overall and gets rid of the exhaust valve cable adjuster, Evap, cats etc

@@Nyx_88888 Unfortunately, I can't answer this for you. The rear head on these bikes generates A LOT of heat! Some aren't bothered by it, while others are. Ducati added the covers to keep as much heat away from the rider as possible because riders were getting burned. Therefore, you would think it (the heat) would be significantly worse without the covers. You'll have to remove them and see for yourself.

How can i remove instead the exhaust heat cover without removing the tank? is that possible?

Unfortunately not soon. I thought I recorded the reinstall only to find out my GoPro froze and didn't record anything 😥So unless I have a good reason to remove the tank again, I probably won't have a reinstall video. However, it's not tough. You can reinstall in reverse order of what was done here 🙂
