Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh visits Leeds Children's Hospital at Leeds General Infirmary. Her Royal Highness surprised children with easter treats, and talked to staff about working at the hospital. Report by Matthew Covell.

I met the Duchess of Edinburgh in Charlottetown, PEI, when I was 7. She was a lovely lady; it was one of the biggest thrills of my life (along with getting saved, meeting my best friend, winning an academic award worth $4000 in money for my tuition, and visiting Brighton Pavilion for the first time).

How lovely to see Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh bring gifts to the sick children. I think her visit was also welcomed by the parents and caregivers who are probably exhausted with worry and may need a boost of cheerfulness as well.

I agree and hope The Royal Family Channel cover more of the duties carried out by other working members of the family. HRH Duchess of Edinburgh has an important role therefore please arrange media coverage for the events she attends. Also more coverage of HRH The Princess Royal and TRH Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
