Enjoyed the presentation. I find the Cold War era to be a fascinating time period and am excited to learn whatever I can about it. A number of years ago, through the Freedom of Information Act, the government released what areas of the country were targeted by the Soviets (I believe the map you had in your presentation was one of those maps released - there were further breakdowns by state), and the area in which I live was slated to have five half megaton nuclear warheads dropped on it. Turns out, there was a uranium refinement facility in the area. Yeah, a fallout shelter would not have been sufficient. Anyway, enjoyed the presentation. You should consider creating a narrated documentary style video. I think that would be really cool!

A limited exchange of atomic weapons may well have been survivable but once thermonuclear weapons were developed I see why a lot of people thought it was futile - weapons thousands of times more powerful than their atomic brethren, and many more of them too.
