These guys are all over 60 and they rock harder than 90% of the 20 somethings today. What's happening in today's music; I'm not hearing any quality. This is rock and roll at its purest; it's what rock should sound like. Take note generation Y this is how it needs to be done. No fancy effects, overdubs or pop crap; just Les Pauls and Fenders plugged into amps. with gain on 7; nothing more.

I wish this foursome would have stayed together and done one last tour as Humble Pie. I mean NO ONE will ever replace Steve Marriott, but Frampton and Clem together with that rhythm section would have been phenomenal...and maybe with Frampton's draw, it would have exposed the legacy of Steve and The Pie to a whole new generation. So glad I grew up with the chance to experience their whole career in real time. R.I.P. Steve and Greg...thanks for blowing my mind.

I agree, I would have paid to see this version of Humble Pie on tour. Like many here, I thought Rockin the Fillmore was one of the best live albums, ever. I did see them in summer 1972, but Frampton had left by then. I was amazed at Marriot's voice, it was stunning to hear live. The band was great, but I wish that Frampton would have been there, as his vocal harmonies were so good. This is a video to watch again and again.

Saw HUMBLE PIE at the Fillmore East in 1970/71 (?) when they opened for DEREK AND THE DOMINOES. Awesome. Marriott had an operatic voice. Saw them many times thereafter, always amazed at his vocal abilities. MANY years later, saw him at a small club in The Rockaways in Queens NY. No recording label, no magic band. He was fantastic. He was having a beer at the bar and I said hello and we talked about the Fillmore years - seemed like a nice “bloke” as the Brits would say. Terrible loss. GREAT voice.

For sure worth the watch, but nothing beats Stevie's voice and his on stage antics. Saw the original line up several time at The Warehouse in New Orleans, and they blew the roof off the place.

Me too! I saw them at the Warehouse a couple of times, along with many of the other great acts of the day--Allman Bros.,Flying Burritos, J. Geils, BB King, and many more. Still remember the old rugs on the floor. Had to move from the Easy in the Seventies, but I still get back whenever I can.

Even after all these years, Peter never plays the same solo twice.I swear, his notes are being channeled from somewhere else.

And he knows where all those "other" notes are. Long before I heard Al DiMeola or Robben Ford, Peter open my ears to life beyond the minor pentatonic.

This performance is but a shell of the original Humble Pie My belief.. I has always been that Peter Frampton got what he brought to the world from Steve Marriott .. his time with Humble Pie brought us much enjoyment in the decades afterwards.

I remember seeing the original band in Toronto in the very early 70's. It was before the days of Frampton's Camel band. :-)) It was a great decade for live music and reasonable ticket prices.

I saw Humble Pie in April of '71, in Virginia, just before they recorded PERFORMANCE/Rockin' the Fillmore. I caught Frampton's Camel, with Barnstorm, in about '73. I also saw HP with Clem about '73 or '74.

It was Peter Frampton who created I Don't Need No Doctor's iconic riff. They were rehearsing at Madison Square Garden when Steve Marriott heard Peter developing this riff. Steve got excited and ran from the sound board to the stage so they could make it the song's refrain. Source book: Happy Boys Happy! A Rock History of the Small Faces & Humble Pie : Featuring Steve Marriot, Ronnie Lane, Peter Frampton & Rod Stewart.

I saw HP in Florida in...well...WAY too many years ago. And, guess what my CD rack and MP3 player contains, and what is listened to on a daily basis? There ARE no bands like HP anymore...and I'm grateful just for the opportunity to have experienced them (and several others) in the 1970's.
