A frozen solo Boundary Water Canoe Area (BWCA) backpacking trip gave me a huge challenge. On the 24 mile journey on the Snowbank Trail in the Superior National Forest near Canada, I struggled to regulate my temperature and the subfreezing temperatures made the already rugged trail even more challenging. Cold temperatures, wind, and snow transformed the trail into a hazardous winter wonderland. Walking over frozen beaver dams was an interesting challenge. I stayed warm camping with nice campfires and had a near emergency situation alone in the remote wilderness.

I lived in Ely the past 4 years, hiking was the main thing I did for fun up there. The north woods always had a way of leaving me fulfilled and full of wonder. I'm back in the city now, but this hike gave me that feeling of wonder, humility, resilience, appreciation, back. I don't, however, miss having to look down for rocks and roots 95% of the time while hiking! : ] You sir are a badass for this hike, and God bless

I have forgotten my spork on 4 backpacking trips. You would have thought I would have learned after the 2 time lol 😆. Lucky I had a MRE in my food bag on my last trip and had a spoon to use. If not I would have made me some chop sticks. Hope you KNEE IS DOING BETTER!! Awesome VID.

Thank you for making this video Jeremy, it looks like you endured some suffering, but it makes for entertaining content. I'm glad that you weren't badly hurt in your fall! Nice improvisation on the tree spork!

What piece of gear have you forgotten that had the biggest impact on your trips? Maybe a video idea, "forgotten items and what you did without them"

Thanks for another great video. Now I can spend all day wishing I was out backpacking in the cold instead of focusing on my work. Please consider inviting a "random" subscriber along the next time you rob a bank. (Which I am assuming you do often in order to be able to spend all of your time on the trail)

I didn’t hear any birds. Did you hear many while you hiked? Or are they mostly gone for the winter? Your videos are fascinating, inspiring, and informative. Thank you!
