Randy Mennie it’s the South American’s man, even in Mexico when Rodger waters did a show that got like a 200k crowd, they always just seem to have so much energy that the shows there are just so much better then most other places in the world
@Lucas_Tulic3 жыл бұрын
@@ehsbe1056 Just to clarify, Mexico is not in South America. The best crowds here (and pretty much in the whole world) are the Argentines and the Brazilians.

Where else but a Rush concert would you hear the crowd 'sing along' with an instrumental? Too cool!
@oz_media7 жыл бұрын
Most audiences outside of North America actually go to watch the show and get into it. They sing along to Iron Maiden guitar solos and transitional passages all over Europe and South America too. Same with just about any rock or metal show, audiences in North America are just lame, that's all.

I've seen Rush in LA and barely anyone was jumpin and dancing around, they were bobbin their heads and tappin their feet but other than that it looked calm despite how intricate and complex their playing is. dystopic panopticon Neil is not much of a people person not many people have met him And a couple have gotten the Neil Peart cold shoulder therefore making him move further away from social interaction and that’s why you don’t see him with Alex and Geddy when they are meeting fans
@nancyflores774 жыл бұрын
From what I've read he was extremely reserved & had always felt uncomfortable with the fame/adulation that came with their success. I've also read he had some social anxiety and had a tight circle of family/friends.

He was a very secluded person, watch "Dinner with Rush" and he's just laughing throughout the entire thing. I think losing his wife and daughter might have had an affect on him. Hopefully he's reunited with his family.

That's one song. All of that energy to play one song. Regardless of what shape he's in, he must have been exhausted and sore at the end of those shows. Once the tendonitis grew, it must have been quite painful to play that hard.

The man was SO INTENSE! I only got to see them 22 times over the years. I know there are folks that have been to many more. Above the talent, and road wear, there is an intensity few others possess. I sometimes felt sad for Neil, as it seemed playing (because of the difficulty, time changes, etc.) it was more of "a job" for him. We know he didn't like the road. But, after he lost so much love in his life, after Vapor Trails, I would watch him and, I don't know, it appeared to me that he was just going through the motions. But, I think he is the most intense man, I never met.

There will never be a substitute for your skills you have achieved, and if in this lifetime there comes along another star as yourself, that matches or exceeds your accomplishments, let the people of all walks of life not neglect to acknowledge the gift before them, to show appreciation and respect, that is not commanded, but should be deserved.
