Yuri 100 percent needs it. His sudden development at the end was the biggest disappointment of the show. There was no real explaination given as to how that even happened. Also the Yu boys being stuck in Yuya and Yu girls being stuck in Yuzu was the worst move the show made. They inevitbaly never escaped their fate as Zarc, being in Yuya is no better than them being within Zarc. Yes everyone is happier becaus etheres less violence but so many characters never got their conclusion because the Yus remained inside one being. (Shun never got his sister back, Rin and Yugo never managed to live out their dreams together, Yuri never felt like anyone could respect him or love him as a person, so his belief that his only purpose was to be the strongest, was never given the resolution/redemption it needed for the direction the show wanted to go. Serena in general needed a bigger story arc.)

I agree with both of you. Yuri, yuto, and yugo, are literally so iconic they should all be considered the moan protagonist(s). Though yuto is the most iconic, then yugo, then yuri, they all deserved a better back story, and a full one at that! Though I must confess that had they of done just that, they would most likely also would have had to go more indepth with zarc's storyline as well. Which would just add onto the darkness in the show when it isn't intirely needed. So it can be argued that they don't need it, but I agree that it is needed

@@alphahydranoid8681 Not really. Masquerade, although following the orders of Naga, was always following truly his own agenda. He only helped out because Alice didn’t really give him a choice, and because it was convenient for him. Once the battle was over, he essentially offed himself cause he saw no reason to exist. His one life goal was shattered, and he’d rather die than convert. In the case of Hydranoid, either he has a case of Stockholm syndrome, was heavily influenced by Alice’s purity, or is bound to follow Alice command no matter what. Yuto’s entire character was that he was an average person who was put in a bad situation that forced him to mature, and made him a somewhat bitter person, but throughout it all, he cared deeply for those around him, and that is why he fought. Not for power, but freedom and peace. He was still the same character. Yuya never took Dark Rebellion and the Phantom Knights, Yuto gifted them to him with a smile on his face during his final moments. Masquerade had no regard for anything or one (except Hydranoid, but that’s for a different reason). He willing “murdered” Reaper, a living being with a soul that believed his master actually cared and had his best interests in mind, despite essentially been pimped out to mess with Dan and Drago, he still believed Masquerade cared, which he didn’t. Or what about the time he straight up ordered Shun to physically murder Dan? And it’s not like Shun isn’t capable. He tried to make a 13 year old commit first degree. And back to Yuto, how many time’s did we actually see him card people? Never. That was Kurosaki’s shtick. Did Yuto go a bit far? Yes. But he never intended to kill, and he didn’t if he didn’t have to.

The thing is Arc-V follow the adventures of yuya sakaki It is not Arc-V on itself as we see things on yuya's perspective And also yuto's popularity was over yuya from a far That's why they killed him and they make yuya absorb him And he comes like spirit to how atem is to yugi Yuto's history is good despite that they shorten it But it is true that he doesn't bring a new summoning mechanic Yuto is the EXACT opposite of yuma tsukomo Their outfits are pallet swap from white red to black&purple Yugo is actually very similar to Yusei And that other fusion counter part well He is actually jaden's darkness phase We could say that he is opposite to jaden too as jaden can control himself Where as that fusion representation is the complete opposite Yuto on his own could carry a yugioh series but they didn't allow it
